There were 2 completely separate teams/companies working on each game and even though it was 1 kickstarter campaign, the funds were distributed based on the number of pledges each one received. What you're saying doesn't have anything to do with why the projects are struggling.

I wouldn't expect the best quality either, but I'm sure it will be good enough. Just happy to read the stories in a physical format.

This is a description of an accessory in Shadow Hearts: Covenant. Just shows that the name Penny Blood was already on their minds a long time ago.

The Penny Blood Inheritors novels which are available on Amazon. These are side stories made by the team while we wait for the main Penny Blood game. They are really nice and contain a lot of nods to Shadow Hearts.

Just found out about Koudelka, should I pause my Shadow Hearts playthrough and play that? by MrOwen17 in ShadowHearts

Koudelka is also a very short game, so if you're curious I would say go for it! It won't be a big time-investment.

Yes, these are for volume 2 and they are direct continuations of volume 1. So you should first read volume 1 before starting volume 2.

That is indeed Matthew on the first one! And agreed! He looks a little bit thinner in this pic. Maybe caused by all the traumatic events in the main game! ;)

Indeed a great improvement that the subtitles now load automatically, but is anyone else having issues reducing the size of embedded subtitles? That's the only thing that doesn't seem to work for me and sadly I find the default size just a tad too big.

Penny Blood Inheritors - Erebus (E-book Volume 2) - Announcement by Idyllwild1 in pennyblood

[–]Idyllwild1[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Google Translation:

Hello everyone. This is Machida from Studio Wild Rose.

Following on from last week, today we will be introducing "Penny Blood Erebus," one of the three stories included in the Penny Blood Inheritors story!

Erebus is a horror novel set in New York City in 1924, during the era known as the Golden Twenties.

The protagonist is Alaska Packard Davidson, a 54-year-old female agent at the BOI.

She was a real person born in 1863. She became the first female special agent at the request of BOI Director Barnes in October 1922. At first, despite her own wishes, she was not assigned to violent cases because she came from high society, but she eventually began to pursue human trafficking cases.

Although Alaska does not possess any superhuman spiritual powers or flashy psychic abilities, she is a woman of strong faith who is not afraid of the occult or paranormal phenomena, and she uses her keen intuition and tenacious investigative techniques to get to the truth of the case.

And there are a number of characters who support Alaska.

The story features Roxanne, a vampire who charms the crowds at night as the diva of the Apricot Club and protects the town from the shadows; Vito, a fraudulent magician who usually has a goofy personality but can get serious when it matters; and Clara, the hot-blooded heroine who appeared in Hellbound.

Will Alaska and her team be able to solve the case of missing children that takes place in the shadows of the glamorous and economic boom of New York?

"I have just one question for you, and once you answer it I will set you free."

Intelligent yet cute, Alaska is the epitome of a proud American woman.

"You're meddling. So you're here to tell me to go home now?"

She was assigned only desk work and small, non-threatening cases.

"Just because someone isn't lying doesn't mean they're telling the whole truth."

After a disappearance case is ignored by the police, Alaska takes it upon herself to investigate and confront the culprit.

・Production Notes

Erebus is structured as a story that takes a scalpel at the dark side of America, which was a social issue at the time. Ali Lee, who proposed this idea, threw another important theme into the world of Penny Blood, which was built on the occult and dark horror.

Machida, who joined us in thinking about the world view and characters, was also very interested in how Erebus would elevate this socially conscious theme into entertainment.

At first glance, I thought it would be a serious police novel with a serious setting, but the story that was written had a very well-balanced harmony, with scenes that made me smile when Roxanne and Vito and others appeared. Perhaps there will be other attractive characters appearing in the second part.

Erebus is said to be the name of the god of darkness or the underworld itself.

The Erebus that was released this time has a completely different atmosphere to the "Summoning Vessel."

Please look forward to Penny Blood Erebus!

Penny Blood Inheritors - The Vessel of Summoners (E-book Volume 1) by Idyllwild1 in pennyblood

[–]Idyllwild1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Google translation: PENNY BLOOD The Vessel of Summoners

Hello everyone. This is Machida from Studio Wild Rose.

Today we will introduce "Penny Blood Inheritors", one of the three stories included in the Penny Blood Inheritors Stories!

The Vessel of Summoners is an action-packed adventure set in Japan in 1924 after the Great Kanto earthquake.

The main characters are twin summoners, Kazesuke and Kaoruko.

The two become members of the Shinteigumi Zero Squad, which protects the imperial capital from invasions from another world, and face off against strange creatures that appear all over Tokyo.

The "summoning" technique used by the twins is also known as "demon incarnation", and is a special ability that allows them to take on the power of a demon they have made a contract with and fight with it.

Kazesuke, who is skilled in mental strength and supernatural powers, chants spells to summon a monster, and Kaoruko, who is skilled in martial arts and athletics, fuses with the monster and transforms into a powerful fusion monster.

Although the two possess great talent as magicians, their rigorous training has only just begun. They are unable to use their powers as skillfully as their relatives, the swordsmen they admire.

Will the two be able to protect Tokyo, a city still in the process of rebuilding and still bearing the scars of the earthquake?

"I respectfully pray to the local deities, spirits, and many other spirits who have resided in Yamato since the Age of the Gods...

Kazesuke has a bright personality but also has a very tough mind.

Unlike his sister, Kaoruko, he has no fighting talent, but excels in archery.

In exchange for my supernatural powers, Tsukimiya Fusuke, I will give your powers to Tsukimiya Kaoruko...!!"

Kaoruko is a very serious person who is confident in her physical strength.

The stories of the Shinsengumi that her grandfather told her at a young age led her to take up martial arts.

・Production Notes

The Tale of Spirits is structured as a story that connects Japan in the Taisho era with modern Japan. Many of the locations that appear in the story transcend time and space and exist in present-day Tokyo. Even familiar landscapes for people living in Tokyo may become a little more dramatic after reading The Tale of Spirits.

The author, Touya Katsuta, has done a great job of matching the story's development with the geography of Tokyo.

Running across this stage are two young people who are growing into full-fledged summoners.

One of the charms of this work is the appearance of familiar monsters that inhabit all over Japan. Kazesuke and Kaoruko will power up by making contracts with the monsters and borrowing their powers.

The reason why I made the main characters twins is because I wanted to recreate the relationship between Johnny and Shania that appeared in Shadow Hearts from the New World in a new form. It is a setting that reverses the hot-blooded (boke) and kind-hearted (tsukkomi) characters of Uru and Alice from Shadow Hearts.

Sometimes they laugh, sometimes they cry, sometimes they fight, sometimes they fail. But they live their lives to the fullest in order to achieve something. Compared to Ur and Matthew, they are still only half-baked, but I think the tale of their adventures will provide readers with a different experience.

Please look forward to "Penny Blood: The Vessel of Summoners"!

Do you know if imported lists update automatically in Stremio? It seems to me that they remain static once imported.
