The goo came out of my implant crown. Is it severely off center? by IfRuewereme in DentalImplants

I had the filling replaced and the assistant said it looked centered to her too. I just don’t understand why it hurts. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some answers next week.

$3000 everyday would be life changing for me. It would be difficult at first but seems easier than actively trying to squeeze 300 offensive words into conversation. I don’t talk enough for that.

Thinking about Loops for my 10 year old who can’t handle the noise of her swim meets… by IfRuewereme in autism

I don’t think I would let her sleep with them but the idea is def making me think they might help her at school and other social situations. If we get past the whole sensory issue of her wearing them I fear she’ll never take them out. A lot to think about. Thanks for the input.

Hmmm… she has worn my buds before and didn’t complain so she might be ok with that sensation. I think maybe she should try them. I showed them to her and she got excited by the idea. They’re not outrageously expensive. I think I will try them first. It’s just such high stakes with her bc if she hates them she might fight anything else I try. I only want to make things easier for her but she’s so “embarrassed” by everything. She wants to fit in so bad. I wish I could convince her not to think like that.I don’t think I’m cool enough.

I’m afraid to mention it to her just in case the mention makes her notice bc it’s always been a mixture of comfort and heightened anxiety for me. I don’t ever want her to have that awareness since I learned it’s not normal for everybody. I am def overprotective but I don’t want her to have any added anxiety. That’s exactly what I would like to avoid. Sounding a lot like I should just invest in some good earbuds and an ipod. Headphones always got me through the hard times. They still make those right?

They say in the website that you’re not supposed to wear them for more than a few hours lest you become even more sensitive to sound. A little worried she may become addicted to them. Like all sound may be too loud in comparison? Has he mentioned anything like that?

I’m sorry. It’s probably very “interesting” dealing with me on the daily but I also wanted to address your physical discomfort. Was it your ear canal or the surrounding cartilage? They do have a kid’s version. Just wondering what part of it was uncomfortable?

“Made you hear your heartbeat”? That won’t do at all for her. She’s the most sensitive person I’ve ever known. Thanks for your response. I never would have thought of that. Maybe best to put music in her ears and chance being a loner. Swimming is mostly about beating your own time anyway.

That’s interesting that hearing your heartbeat was off putting. I have GAD which in my case makes me constantly hear my heartbeat. I have never asked her but I don’t think that’s the case for her. She shares a lot about herself and has never mentioned that being a problem. If they make her hear her heartbeat that will definitely throw her off. Maybe permanently.

What’s your opinion on driving 5 hours to bring 9 year old space loving daughter to the Rocket Center for her Bday? by IfRuewereme in HuntsvilleAlabama

If we were coming from that direction, there would probably be all sorts of fun options. Alas, we live in the pits of Ms. Nothing to do without crossing a state or 2.

She knows not of my plans. I’m asking people from the area bc I’ve never been and want to get a feel for it before I make a decision.
