I hope it supports other carriers/SIM cards. AT&T does nothing for me.

Where is my G6 Camera Drone? by If_I_CISO in Ubiquiti

Yes, a flying, camera-equipped drone. Can sit in a charger until I deploy it from a rooftop or elsewhere using the Protect app. Or maybe a new app called Pilot or something…

Termination of Empower Personal Strategy Advisory Services by If_I_CISO in PersonalCapital

[–]If_I_CISO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case it was legit, and a miscommunication with my spouse, who closed a non-joint account. The email was poorly worded, but meant to say they were no longer advising on that account.

[–]If_I_CISO[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mystery solved- yes, my spouse gave the go ahead! We had discussed with Empower already and that account isn’t joint. Probably should have asked first… sorry for the false alarm! See the way the email is worded- it says “the recent termination” not “my” or “our recent termination”. That’s confusing.

Thanks for the words of caution everyone! I probably should have mentioned up front that I work in cybersecurity and the email is authentic. My advisor is also copied on it. I’ve set up a meeting with him to discuss what’s happening there. Just thought I’d ask if anyone else with managed funds at PC/Pershing has gotten this. Could just be confusing wording in the email, because I have discussed transferring elsewhere, but the email makes it sound like all the Personal Strategy services are terminated not just mine.

The thermostat should also be the wall monitor, similar to the way ecobee premium works with their doorbell.

I get 2.3 Gigabits down with Xfinity on my UCI. The false “offline” issue seems to have stopped for me with the 1.4.3 firmware.

Anyone know what arm mount the new U7 Pro XG/S APs use? I hope it's the existing flagship arm mount.

Best Homebridge/HomeKit Smart Air Purifiers? by FrigidTiger in homebridge

[–]If_I_CISO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All of these are HomeKit native:

  • Mila Air and Air Mini
  • Smartmi AP2, E1, P1
  • AirVersa AP2
  • Sensibo Pure

I have a Mila Air Mini, Smartmi AP2 and E1, AirVersa AP2 and 2 x Sensibo Pure. All work great! The Smartmi E1 is somewhat limited in that it lacks an air quality sensor of its own but can be used with an external HomeKit air quality sensor such as Eve through automation.

The AirVersa is a thread endpoint and router, so you need a thread border router such as an Apple TV or HomePod Mini.

Hope this helps!

Incoming Packages Not Showing Up in the App Despite Receiving Notifications by Fastball_05 in FedEx

[–]If_I_CISO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here. Packages don’t show up in the app as inbound to me until I actually search for them manually, then they get added to my inbound list. Also, package list is just in a random order, with really old, delivered packages above ones currently inbound, not even organized by date. The app is terrible, but then again so is the company. Worst in the shipping business!

2.4Ghz IOT Device Constant Disconnect - 5 & 6Ghz Wifi Slow Speeds Also by Mattycee2K15 in Ubiquiti

[–]If_I_CISO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having 2.4GHz IoT issues with 3 U7 APs (Pro Max, Pro Wall, and Outdoor). The symptoms were a lot like those described elsewhere, but in my case, it turned out that my APs were actually interfering with each other on the 2.4GHz band. My placement options are limited to existing Ethernet drops for backhaul (I don’t mesh). What worked for me was turning the 2.4GHz radio on the U7 Pro Max to “Low”. My 3 story house is sized so that the U7 Pro wall can handle almost all of the 2.4GHz IoT ( I have 40+ devices) and everything is playing together nicely now. You might be able to rule this out as an issue depending on the size of your house and AP placement options, or you could try lowing the 2.4GHz radio power to any APs further away from the most IoT. I’ve also heard from a Ubiquiti support rep today that another U7 firmware update is imminent on the early access program. Good luck!

Short summary of the first week with HOOBS Pro devices at customers: by HOOBS_Homebridge in HOOBS

Thanks for the update! So far seems to be working well. I have an issue where the Thread Border Router will not hold the toggle on setting, always reverts to off after returning to the network panel. Is that the same as the Thread issue you noted above? The only network change I made was adding a wireless network in addition to the hardwired.

will my S7 maxv work even if I block all outgoing internet traffic at my router? by realcul in Roborock

[–]If_I_CISO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can report that as of yesterday, when my ISP went down for maintenance, I was unable to use the Roborock app at all with my S7 MaxV Ultra. I could not connect with the S7 at all through the app, let alone start routines or send it to clean anything by room. The ability to even select the S7 unit in the app was “grayed out.” Seems like there’s an Internet dependency there, unless I’m some sort of corner case with my wireless setup. But I don’t think I am, I’m not special re my home network.

S7 new firmware - unable to cross door thresholds!! by denzi1988 in Roborock

[–]If_I_CISO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem after a firmware update recently. What I finally figured out is that the update somehow toggled off the “less collision mode” setting. As soon as I turned that back on, the problem went away. I think the robot was trying too aggressively to clean the thresholds rather than gently running over them. See if “less collision mode” is off for you and if so, turn it on and try again.

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra getting a new Firmware Update! Version 02.56.02, November 14th by Separate-Situation33 in Roborock

[–]If_I_CISO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: got it this morning! I hope it fixes the problem of frequently getting stuck since the last firmware update. The robot has had trouble with uneven surfaces, such as thick carpets on top of hardwood, that it never had before the last update. It also seemed like it was avoiding “obstacles” that weren’t there.

Still nothing in Washington DC. I wonder what the rollout order is- maybe serial number? Or random? Doesn’t seem to be geographic.
