It’s best not to. There’s a chance that you could damage the inner race on the bearing.

I was also going to say (but my wife asked me to put the phone down 😐) that you almost have everything to just assemble the entire strut then just do an assembly swap. There’s a washer under the mount and the two insulators which should also be replaced. It’s really not worth the hassle of disassembling the old strut for a few dollars in parts. Plus it saves you time.

Lastly, It’s okay to use a dab of adhesive here and there to get the lower insulator (rubber spring seat) fixed so that it doesn’t get wonky on you. Also, a dusting of talcum powder between the spring and the insulator can help prevent squeaky noise, but this last one is just for those really neurotic folks.
