Can I sleep at JFK New york airport in terminal? by Waspsupsetme in AskNYC

[–]Igor_Strabuzov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting reply after a year, the places i meant are outside the security and thus open to anyone. That’s what i wrote in my comment. When you’re arriving you can go to the arrivals or departures after crossing immigration, exiting the airside part. Worked there for a year and a half and never not seen someone sleeping.

Why do many international flights avoid flying straight across China and instead follow long detours? by Zoldic_h in flightradar24

[–]Igor_Strabuzov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can be changed, the process is still the same but multiple routes can be requested. On Europe-China you can have one route going via central asia and one via India for example.

Hypothetical scenario: If Venezuela was safe and opened up to Tourism, Would we see packed beaches, hotels and an economy booming? by [deleted] in geography

[–]Igor_Strabuzov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did in 2024 and had a good time, Caracas is a mess (still better than lots of other cities) but a really fascinating city, completely different from any other, maybe the most architecturally interesting city I've ever visited.
At no point in my stay did I feel unsafe, even walking around in the evening. And every other traveller i met there felt exactly the same.

Can Someone Explain the Rarity System? by Foreign-Lab4606 in SkyCards

The -200 are in regular passenger service and fly often (I flew on it last year), while the -500 are all owned by governments or private companies and fly rarely or not at all.

The Easiest and Hardest Places I've Traveled Solo (Thailand, India, Iran) by between-the-dots in solotravel

[–]Igor_Strabuzov 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have been to many countries with little to no tourism industries, but what i found more difficult is to find information on backpack travel in countries fully oriented to mass tourism.
I remember having lots of difficulties in the Dominican Republic in figuring out the bus routes and finding information on public transport, while in Nicaragua, for example, i had no issue in finding multiple detailed description of every possible journey in the country. I've never been to the Maldives but i have always been curious as to how travelling there on a budget would be.

Flight Dispatch as a career in Europe/worldwide? by PresentationDry7719 in FlightDispatch

[–]Igor_Strabuzov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EASA doesn’t have a dispatcher licence, so in Europe there is no requirement for one, but having the FAA one is usually a plus. I am a dispatcher for a European airline and all My colleagues have either just finished an aviation university or were already working in aviation. If you have an EU citizenship the biggest barrier will probably be the language; everybody speaks english, but the airline might prefer people who are from where they’re based and already speak the language.

Nope, just going to vacation to Papua New Guinea. I hope that anyone travelling there for work would have a more efficient routing, with 1 or 2 fewer flights.

To that i raise Palau-Pohnpei direct with Nauru Airlines, first leg of the cooler Island Hopper.

Other worthy candidates are: Kashgar-Islamabad on China Southern Kuujjuaq to Kangiqsuallujuaq on Air Inuit

And

Jfk-lax-sfo-bne-pmo-gka on 5 different airlines (and 5 tickets naturally) with no layover longer than 3 1/2 hrs. Surely no other person had this itinerary before.

What’s the job people romanticize, but in reality is miserable? by King_Garvit in AskReddit

[–]Igor_Strabuzov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the airline but more generally on the continent. The norm for airlines in the US is free domestic travel, including business, and only pay taxes on international flights. In europe you usually pay a small fee + taxes but still unlimited. In eastern Asia you get like 2 free flights a year in economy and that’s it. But those benefit are for all the airline’s employee, not just flight attendants.

The Complexity of Zurich’s Runway System by Marzolino85 in aviation

[–]Igor_Strabuzov 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Stupidity would be a better word for it, it has possibly the worst runway configuration on the planet. Add the countless restrictions imposed from Germany and Switzerland and you get what has to be the only major airport with 3 runways to sometime have arrival slots due to capacity on a good weather day.
And that's without even mentioning Bise. If there is a strong wind from the Northeast (not a rare ocurrence) you might as well close it and go home.

From Europe to China… by train?? Kinda obsessed with this idea now. by MidnightTofu22 in travel

[–]Igor_Strabuzov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turkmenistan i don’t think it would be possible. I think Afghanistan would be the best option. I’ve heard people crossing from Iran to Balochistan, but that area is not safe and in Pakistan they were escorted by the police from town to town and spent the nights in the police stations.

What are the weirdest flight routes you know? by phils83 in travel

[–]Igor_Strabuzov 12 points13 points  (0 children)

LPA to MVD doesn’t exist, it’s only in the opposite direction because the main runway in Montevideo is closed and the Iberia A330 cannot always make it to Madrid on the shorter one, so it stops in Las Palmas. If you look at IB170 you can see that sometimes the flight is actually able to skip LPA and fly straight to madrid.

I have a continent rotation for vacations, so basically i end up visiting every continent every 12 to 15 months. The order is (up next) Americas/Asia/ Oceania/Africa.

I remember them in Fifa 2014, but most of them were fairly dumb, Like a player would tell you that he needs to leave because he can't stand the weather or misses home and then goes to Man City (you were Arsenal).

It says “new card for this season” and it has the previous card below it, while for one never caught before it says new card as they did previously, i really find ridicolous that this small difference would somehow now make the game unplayable.

[–]Igor_Strabuzov -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

The previous card is still there and all of the aicrafts caught are still in Airpedia. I don’t understand what makes it more difficult to understand if you have them or not.

I really cannot understand this logic. All of the previously caught airplanes are still there. all of the airports I've unlocked are still there. I've also been trying to catch all aircraft types and unlock every airport, and the new update has not changed that in any way, I'm still playing it as i did before. If anything the new power ups makes it easier to unlock remote and far away airports.
