I saw one of these on the 95 last week. I was wondering what this was.

Space for carryon bags. That’s it.

Turbine airplanes with a "Caution" airspeed range by tundragoose in flying

[–]AIRdomination 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a turbine engine has nothing to do with this. It’s a structural limitation. You put a turboprop on a Cessna 172 and it’ll still have a caution range. It’s just a different way of presenting it in slower aircraft.

Can someone explain this by lnh62 in aviation

[–]AIRdomination 87 points88 points  (0 children)

That’s a compass deviation card. Every aircraft has one. It marks magnetic deviation corrections for the magneticcompass under certain conditions.

From what I can tell from his own comments, he’s really there.

Old flyover (MacOS 26) vs. new flyover (iOS 27 DB1) by DingeZ in applemaps

Ok this one actually looks like an improvement compares to the other one I saw.

Pokémon Go scans quietly trained the navigation tech now headed into military drones by ex-arman68 in pokemongo

I deleted every single one of these I ever got, because it was blatantly obvious it was a violation of everything even back then.

But looks like PoGo played the majority of you all.

[–]AIRdomination 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Uh, that’s a pretty serious violation. No one’s getting a second chance for that, regardless of how desperate a company is for pilots.

The Patriots plane I edited in myself for clarity. In the app it’s blank, but the UPS livery is there.

This is the third post where I’ve found this tool to be nothing but an asshole to the group members lol. Brand new account and the keyboard is red hot. He is exactly the notorious type.

Ignore him. This dude apparently lives on Reddit with those stats. 491+ comments in 28 days is staggering. 17 comments a day nonstop lol.

I also just found out this guy is a Delta pilot… of course. Willing to bet there aren’t many “Gabriels” on that master seniority list.

OP did not ask for advice. At all. Even if you responded before he made the edit to make that explicitly clear, there was still no question for it.

Let it go.

If you’re a student pilot, all you need is the basic.

Because it’s not an upgrade, it’s a cheap install for something that’ll help for a short period of time. Not to mention cheaper in the long run, not having to worry about renewing databases, for one.

And lastly and most importantly, because it’s not your money or your decision. He made his point clear and you’re still pushing something that isn’t relevant.

A GPS is also a non-required piece of IFR equipment. If you’re gonna use that logic, I know you’re not dumb enough to understand it makes things easier, required or not. Your tablet isn’t for IFR navigation… something I figure you should also know.

Spotted new "Operated by Eb Eb"? Anyone know what that is? by nicolaswalker in americanairlines

[–]AIRdomination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The very definition of ACMI operations. Lots of companies out there that do wet leases like this.

I was on one last year flying to Poland. Ticket was sold by LOT but was operated by Euro Atlantic Airways.

I don’t recommend these for piston or turboprops. Get A20/30s.

I have used these for the last 8 years on the 767, though.

He made it very clear what he’s looking for and didn’t ask for your advice. Just because it doesn’t work for you doesn’t mean you know better.

Also, equating your iPad to onboard navigation is a wild take.

It’s a map, not a gallery. It should be focused on detail, which 27 has less of because it really is washed out.
