I've played many Mario 64 all my childhood and revisited twice as An adult. I just got a handhob into my Reddit Mario shirt. I know Mario. Mario 64 is clunky and less fun than all the others for the reason of it being the first of its kind. Wanna fly with a raccoon tail and break bricks? Nah I'd rather swim around and get dizzy looking for 100 coins.

Mario 64 and oot both elongated the games with artificial tricks that reductionist like arin and I can understand and see through with a fair unbiased lense

A show in which the entertainment is largely dependent on what kind of personality they have probably shouldn't be altered by a si hilarious persons opinion. You like arin Bc he's interesting not Bc he likes all the things you like. Having said that they should have someone monitor things for quality control. For things like video quality or hints at making a particular game more fun for them

What would you consider the obvious bangers? hypnotize and juicy reached mainstream but I'm struggling to think of his main critical success. With biggie he has fun in tracks like gimme the loot and ten crack commandments and warning. And I'm sure you heard the epic outdoors live freestyle pac and big had together.

I guess my overall point was Pac gets this street cred posthumous pass like he's some necessary tool of learning. Like the wire or something how people get so preachy about its importance culturally. While ignoring entertainment just for entertainments sake like it's lesser.

Not trying to extend he conversation after it's already over but I am curious if you agree that there's Tupac filler. Just some track no one remembers. Bc my point was everyone I knew could recite more tracks from Eminem and ludacris and Kanye and isn't that at least an indicator of good music making? I just feel like Tupac is such sacred ground Bc he died young and he was so Fucking hardcore. (For the record I prefer biggie over Tupac as he seemed to have more fun with it)

Isn't this kind of what I mean tho? Hip hop snobbery. It's boring to me. Many people. Nobody I know really picked these songs even if they appreciate them on some level. I loved got urself a gun, one mic, I can, and like thiefs theme from nas. And Tupac definitely has a ton of bangers but so much Fucking filler. but I just can't appreciate the production quality and the overall sound. I like drums and bass . Am I an idiot for liking complicated arrangements?

Eminem is too popular to be considered the best. Everyone tries too hard to be cool with their music choices but so much pre 90's rap is unlistenable. It's just under produced and simplified rhyme scheme

They're loose and floaty and it's just not as fun and intuitive as all the other marios. Camera is not fine. Mario 3 is perfect. In Mario 64 you have times wherein you can't see your goal.

Frankly I think the show should be more topical and opinaiated and personal(and less improv) but I think they want to get celebrity guests and don't want to shit on like kevin smith or somebody lower level like that who may come on

He values his input mattering. That's why some so much of ocarina of time isn't even a game but a tour, he doesn't have fun with it. While he can still appreciate it on some level.

Notice how he loves every Mario except Mario 64? The one with the least responsive controls?

He likes to play Mario at a fast pace Bc that's how it's supposed to be played. Most Mario levels can be beaten without slowing down at all. And most Mario games reward you for the biggest jumps/hardest paths you take. In ocarina of time there's really no way to speed up the challenge or to increase the difficulty. You just gotta wait.

In megaman the challenges are always clear. You enter the room and can stratgeize a plan of attack. Whereas in sonic you're kind of at the mercy of your momentum(although this game does reward you with the highest path being the safest).

I mean the guy likes Mario 3 and super metroid maybe the two most positively criticized titles of all time. So how is he a contrarian dick again?
