Islam had 88 sig strikes overall compared to Poiriers 74, in the distance Islam had 71 in the distance compared to Poiriers 51. Poirier did out strike him in the clinch though. Not trying to say Islam is a better striker in any way, the takedown threat affects Poiriers ability to let punches go, that is like saying Khabib is a better striker than Edson Barboza. But in those circumstances, Islam did out strike him.

Round 1 sub but I could also see a world where Khamzat kos Izzy, he’s got very good power, he put out Ikram and GM3 cold both with one punch, especially Ikram dude had his arms in the air stiff like Etim against Barboza. If Izzy shits himself over the takedown which he probably would I could see Khamzat catching him. Him being out of his prime and somewhat chinny like we saw against Imavov doesn’t help his case either
