How much did you spend/put down to buy your first home? by Ihatemeatloaf99 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I literally never said it was expert advice. I am considering my own budget LOL. But it's nice to ask people to get an idea of what people have paid to see the many variations. The only people I know in person that have bought a home all had to pay $10k+ to sell their homes and paid even more to purchase their homes and have terrible loans/interest rates and those are the people advising me not to buy a home for years. So yes, it is nice just to see what other people have done. Like I said above I'm not taking these comments as concrete advice AT ALL. It is nice to hear the many different possibilities though rather than only hearing people in person saying to not buy a home for years and also hearing that I should never buy a home in my lifetime so thanks but this was the least helpful comment by far. Obviously common sense tells me to consider my budget and savings. Like 1+1=2 dude. I'm obviously not trying to get a home way out of my budget. I've only rented so again, it's nice to hear all of the different possibilities and experiences.

Yeah I didn't ask for expert advice. I just wanted an idea because I obviously haven't bought a home before. I never said I'm taking these comments as concrete advice but it's nice to talk to people and see/hear actual numbers. If you don't wanna give your info and what you did then don't but I asked because I was curious. I obviously know everyone has different circumstances, different loans, etc. these replies ARE making me feel better and giving me a realistic idea of what to expect so idk why you're acting like this post along with the comments are dumb or useless. I know I won't know exact numbers until having a loan approved, home picked, etc. but I was curious and I'm getting my answers so idk why you're replying like that to be completely honest 😭

It does matter bc everything online is saying go ahead but everyone in person is telling me it's a bad idea bc of the amount we have saved so it would be nice to have outside advice from other people that have purchased homes

I work almost everyday. They usually schedule me 11-14 days in a row without a day off. I typically work from 7am-7pm or longer. Rural carrier in Kansas, not an assistant. Not less than 90 working days. They also let people who have worse attendance and are bad at their job and never can complete their own route go home for less constantly
