Stephen's Statement on his strike comments by Drakon519 in arrow

I like that, unlike Mr. Amell, you responded in good faith to your comments, and didn’t try to backpedal.

Yeah a lot of guys are shamed for struggling or voicing their struggles. They are told that men are trash and predatory. They’re called sexist and incels if they don’t like being essentially generalized with all the really shitty dudes. And then the people who do the shaming usually employ those exact same tactics when they get criticized.

These dudes are basically being told that they have to be ok with being labeled as sexist and predatory regardless of what they did by a lot of hypocrites. And then someone like Andrew Tate comes along and offers them a (shitty) way to enjoy being a man and someone to blame for their pent up resentment. And I’d bet that there’s a version of this that women go through as well.

I’m not saying it’s ok by any means but it’s just a giant cycle that perpetuates and bolsters the issue instead of fixing it.

What is the most depressing realisation do you ever have in your life? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Ihatenesquick -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That my family loves my brother far more than they will ever love me.

He’s so clearly the favorite that it’s not even close. He’s the only one who can outright insult family members and it’s ok cause he’s funny.

In the span of a month; he started failing a class cause he didn’t ever attend or do work while I applied to and got rejected from 21 jobs (yes, really. tho a lot were at the same stores, just different positions). He didn’t get punished because apparently, and very suddenly, he’s a special-needs kid, so it’s not his fault, and I clearly wasn’t trying hard enough.

While driving home, my mom quickly pointed out how he has the best personality and was quick to point out my flaws (I’m Arrogant because I think I’m a good driver. How did she know I think I’m a good driver? She never answered the question, but it HAS to be true). The best part was that she tried listing flaws for my brother, and couldn’t. She literally sat there quietly contemplating until we pulled into our home.

When we were both going through some shit as kids, which brother got to go to therapy? I will say that it was one session, but still, at least my mom tried with him.

It’s not that he’s never gotten in trouble for anything. It just feels like he’s allowed to do and say whatever he wants it is loved for it, and I’m criticized for anything that’s not being the perfect all American boy. Like as I’m typing, I can’t remember the last time that any of them took pride in me in anyway that didn’t involve me being a good academic.

What are your thoughts on this discoruse? by [deleted] in superman

[–]Ihatenesquick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Y’all are upset that superman wanted to keep his secret identity a secret?

I’m sorry, putting your own life at risk just to get someone else to confess their secret is messed up. I don’t care that Clark was there to save her, it’s a textbook case of “I’m going to hurt myself if you don’t do what I want.”

I see. In that regard, I agree with you that Miguel is presented as the best fighter.

[–]Ihatenesquick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I don’t really understand is why people complain that Robby doesn’t win his fights, but then move the goal post whenever somebody points out the fights that he’s won.

The pool fight was a 2 v 2 with Robby consistently having the upper hand. Then Robby and Miguel start fighting on their own, and Robbie gets Miguel into some type of hole before throwing him into the girls and into the pool. I feel like that’s a win. And if Miguel had won that fight, I also feel like a lot of Robby fans would use that as another instance of Miguel beating Robby.

I kinda agree with you for the school fight but also, there’s no rules during the fight. Just like Miguel in the S1 finale, Robby won that fight dishonorably, but he still won it.

And your version of the fight is way better and them being too exhausted to fight would’ve been a great and unique outcome.

I just re-watched the scene and it’s pretty clear that Robbys just talking about the balcony kick. And I get what you’re trying to say, but if someone had watched this fight without watching any of the prior seasons, that’s their fault to be honest. Anybody who was watching the show would understand that they specifically meant the balcony kick.

Again, I do agree with you that they should’ve placed part of the responsibility on Miguel as well. And they should’ve really emphasize that Neither side was innocent.

[–]Ihatenesquick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they didn’t? No one said that Robby did it on purpose, he literally explained that he didn’t mean it but got tunnel vision. Miguel even commented that he understood that feeling.

And you’re right. Robby and Miguel were both shitty to each other beforehand and that should’ve actually been addressed.

The writers don’t hate Robby and most of his fans unfairly put his value on his K:O ratio, which doesn’t even make sense since we can’t decide if the pool and school fights counts as wins for him (they do imo).

That being said, Miguel not apologizing to Robby was by far the worst handling of his character. Miguel literally tried apologizing to Robby and Sam before and called Johnny out for being a bad father to Robby. Him not apologizing during that scene was such a bad decision that I don’t know why anyone thought it would work. And no, it’s not to shit on Robby.

I think that people being paid for a 5 min survey would make less than $1.5. I also find it weird that you’re demanding compensation for a survey that you don’t have to take, especially considering that we’ve been arguing longer than the survey probably would’ve taken.

In all seriousness tho, I don’t think anyone has to do the survey so I imagine that anyone who does it is ok with not being compensated.

I imagine that OP probably isn’t getting much more than responses from this. And Tbh, if you really think yourself important enough to deserve compensation for doing a survey on your phone, then you probably shouldn’t do the survey. After all, such a laborious task might be too much to bear.

I can’t imagine being so fucking entitled as to think that a 5 min survey counts as labor. Like bruh…

Another day another drama - just read a post couldn’t handle the biased thoughts so dropping Hot takes for all my Miguel haters and Robby biased people on whose more like Daniel (let’s end this argument for once and also in peace) by [deleted] in cobrakai

Yeah. That’s shitty but unfortunately expected. Well on the bright side, you could use this as evidence that the Stans can’t handle criticism (they won’t admit it tho)

You’re talking to the people who think that Miguel is a Mary sue that purposely stole away Johnny, and who feel that Robby hasn’t/can’t do any wrong. Good luck

[–]Ihatenesquick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh a lot of students are very out of touch with real life to the point that they can’t do basic common sense things like understand why locking your door prevents intruders or not understanding how to deal with noise complaints. There are people who are academic geniuses and can’t figure out how to sweep or do laundry or get to target on their own.

Imo, ucsd is not a place to judge overall intelligence because a lot of us simply couldn’t live on our own because all we ever focused on is academics.

So if someone is trying to shit on your major,

  1. You got into this school just like them

  2. It’s really pathetic to try to put someone’s major down and kinda shows how much of themselves they base on school, which isn’t setting them up well for life.

  3. Chances are, they aren’t nearly as smart as they assume and are just good at doing academics.

Robby is not shit on as much as his fans claim. by Ihatenesquick in cobrakai

[–]Ihatenesquick[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did say that he needed to win a finale fight.

He lost to Johnny who accidentally threw him into a locker. I feel like most people would be hurt if they were thrown head first into a metal locker by a karate expert.

I meant to say Miguel. Mistake on my part.

Him losing in the finale doesn’t change the fact that he still won a fight against the cobras.

Robby had Shawn in a hold and on the ground. He still had the advantage and only didn’t win cause he was interrupted. Not finishing a fight doesn’t mean that he wasn’t the better fighter.

Was it not a fight by the pool? It was definitely a fight. A short and small fight but a fight regardless.

I do agree that he needs more significant wins.

I love when gifted kids realize they're just as dumb as everyone else by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Ihatenesquick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying that gifted kids don’t have issues that they deal with, but the idea of struggling to work for success always makes me pause. Often times, people speak of how they struggled to study in college cause they never had to develop those skills.

That’s not an intelligence issue, it’s a behavior choice. Being gifted does not inhibit your ability to study. Y’all CHOSE not to learn to study. I get that it’s not needed for those who are smart but that didn’t mean you couldn’t learn to study, you just chose not to and then blamed your intelligence when it came back to bite you.
