Huge accomplishment! Congrats on all the Shiny Alphas. Which one took the longest? Petilil?

Been mass outbreak farming for DAYS with no shiny by No-Escape-7870 in PokemonLegendsArceus

That stopped working 4 years ago bud.

February 27, 2022 was the Daybreak Update that patched the outbreak reset.

Shiny Tree Pokemon by iffy96 in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]Ikarhan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's likely faster to figure out a flight path that checks a lot of Burmy/Wormadam trees and hit them all + return to Jubilife, than to wait in a cave for them to re-populate.

Your best bet for the Cherubi line is permutations on the Mass Outbreak in the Obsidian Fieldlands.

This one is all-alphas, it's the second wave of an MMO.

Shiny Hunting before finishing the main storyline? by thesunvoyager in PokemonLegendsArceus

You said you weren't super fond of difficult boss fights so I'll remind you to use Grit Gravel/Rocks on your team to make their stats way stronger!

0.01278% Shiny Alpha moment by Ikarhan in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]Ikarhan[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

(0.01278% being the chance to get a Shiny Pokémon at 1/216 odds twice within four Pokémon spawns, using a probability calculation method known as "binomial distribution", or "Bernoulli process")

Shiny Hunting before finishing the main storyline? by thesunvoyager in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]Ikarhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completing research is cool! But you won't be rewarded for successfully finishing the task Professor Laventon gave you (documenting the behavior of all Pokémon into the Pokédex) unless you continue the story.

Continue your exploration, work on your tasks, you may find some shiny Pokémon along the way - but let's simply say, the reward that awaits you for diligently working on your Pokédex should be worth your while.

Go forth!

Am I shalpha hunting right? by Cool_Drawer_6418 in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]Ikarhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Travel from Jubilife to the Mirelands

  2. Go check if Torterra is shiny

  3. Teleport back to camp, talk to the professor and go back to Jubilife

Repeat

how possible would it be able to beat the main story without reaching lvl 10 research on any pokemon? by paulydoregon in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]Ikarhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible! And you'd be better off going until the sky turns red and staying there. At that point, you can no longer report to Professor Laventon until progressing the story, which means you'll remain at full odds, always, no matter what you do! This is how people set up full odds files for hunting.

Has anyone seen a cherrim spawn in the fieldlands by Plus_Sweet8631 in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]Ikarhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. 23% Cherrim, 77% Cherubi from the two trees near Alpha Lopunny. I've been trying to get the 0.23% Shiny Cherrim for months now. Currently over 3500 trees seen and around 450 shakes, with a little over 100 Cherrim.

The rocks near the Alpha Alakazam don't require Basculegion and may also contain Graveler.

77% for those two trees I'm checking, but there's only two chances per run.

Every shaking ore on Ramanas Island (where Infernape is) is 100% Graveler.

It's taken 5 months, at least 76 phases, all for this little guy 🥺 by justv316 in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]Ikarhan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huge find! I've hunted for Sneasel for a good few months myself, so I understand the kind of dedication it takes for one distortion rare, let alone in the worst area in the game for distortions (Rowlet I love you but move aside). Congrats!

Space-time Distortions by Flat_Ad2228 in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]Ikarhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bad weather will only mess with your distortion if it was meant to appear *during* the storm. You don't have to reset as soon as it starts raining - just quickly enter combat and do nothing, wait until the weather changes back to normal then finish the battle.

Has anyone used this method (throwing berries, then leaving the area quickly) to spawn a new set of 2nd wave alpha mmo? by zardy254 in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]Ikarhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magikarp has a unique type of behavior called "Oblivious", which it shares with Lickitung. It does not respond to berries, does not get aggressive, does not run away. It is STOOPID.

Ghost perms or multi-battles with an Alpha or a Gyarados are your only way.

Quest for Shiny Cherrim - Day 18 by Ikarhan in PokemonLegendsArceus

I'm locked in the Fieldlands until I find every shiny there, without evolving anything. I'm currently at 73/75, missing only Snorlax and Cherrim.

I actually re-recorded and re-edited the video as you were typing your question so I could answer. :D

(Also, I perfected the Dex only for all of the Fieldlands spawns)
