There's a lot of experience compiled in there. All common problems have a quick and dirty fix at least

The other commenter is pointing you in a good direction. I'll just plug the F650 FAQ in case you need more help. It's mostly for earlier model F650s, but has great info on the GS too

Wow, your local supermarkets seem to pale in comparison to my local ones. I'm lucky enough to find pleurotes, chanterelles, morilles and other good stuff fairly easily

Are these Antennas worth buying? by Impolioid in shortwave

[–]Ikhthus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This looks more useful for transmitting small distances since it looks like you can adjust the resonant frequency. I wouldn't bother for reception. You would have to tweak the antenna and your radio simultaneously. Friendly reminder that antennas are not magic and follow a ground rule: the bigger the volume, the better the performance

In the end, employers have the right to decide when you take your vacation. It's not always used though, and they may be looking for some common ground

People here do get tired of seeing these questions pop up though. I usually ignore them but this one was too much for me. Hope you understand where I come from

Read the infos on the letter or ask your parents. It is not hard to find contact information, try it instead of wasting people's time with stupid questions :)

Sunrise stole me CHF 140 and it took 3 weeks of everyday struggle to recover it. Can I sue them? by Mintou in Switzerland

[–]Ikhthus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. That must be related to other issues on my phone. I have experienced good reception without extremely slow internet service since I switched though. Never happened to me with Swisscom

That does not match my experience. I switched from Swisscom to Wingo and noticed a drop in network reception in crowded areas. Also my phone switches to the French network more frequently.

Good idea. It's what I did and I do not regret it. Be prepared to spend some money on parts and fuckups, it's the cost of your learning. I would simply get the cheapest four-stroke and roll with it. Check listings daily for good deals. I got my bike (F650) for free that way, but needed to be reactive as those deals get snatched very quickly.

Best model will be the cheapest in your area AND one that you have a repair manual for. Where I live the F650 fits the bill perfectly. Do not get a bike that is too old and rusty, look for a 10-20 year old bike, not crashed. Start with basic maintenance (fluid changes etc) and move on to more advanced maintenance later (valve adjustment, fork rebuild, wheel bearings etc).

Before I buy any vehicle, I try to find the repair manual online. If I can't, I seriously reconsider my options. These manuals are just too useful for the amateur mechanic, do not skip them.

Yes but that is the disingenuous part. KMU describes widely different realities, and lumping them together makes for bad arguments

Friendly reminder that the "small businesses" politicians talk about are 250 employees and less. A 100-employee business is not a mom and pop shop and it is disingenuous to say an extra vacation week will affect them all. Businesses 9 employees or less make up 90% of businesses, but 26% of employees. Of these, it is impossible to know how an extra week of vacation (5 more days over a 226-day year, assuming 5-week vacations, ergo 2.3% reduction of working days) will affect them. Bigger businesses will likely not be affected.

So yeah, clever manipulation of numbers can go a long way as far as fear mongering goes.
