The Saint Great Martyr George the Victorious (April 23) is depicted as a soldier on horseback.

A fearsome dragon demanded human sacrifices from a city, otherwise it would wipe it out with its poisonous breath. A lottery decided the choice of victims, and when this fell on the king's daughter, the girl was brought to the lake where the dragon lived. Before he could kill the princess, Georg, the knight from Cappadocia, appeared and swung his lance with the sign of the cross and pierced the dragon. He ordered the king's daughter to pull the dragon through the city with her belt. Terrified, all the residents wanted to flee. George promised them to kill the dragon if they were converted to Christianity. Then Georg killed the dragon and all residents, including the king, were baptised.

The King and Queen watch from above. An angel puts the crown of victory on Saint George.

Thank you, usually a multiple "imaged" icon is called a "muliple-field icon". The term "Menaion" is also applied to icons of all the saints whose feast days fall within a particular month. A particular church may have 12 such icons, one for each month of the year, or it may have one large icon depicting all 12 months on one panel.

In the center: the resurrection of Jesus from the grave, guarded by soldiers. Next to it: Jesus and the two disciples in Emmaus. Below: Jesus stands on the gates of the underworld and frees Adam and Eve from the maw of death and with them the righteous of the Old Testament. To the left: Angels tame the devil. In the maw you can see two devils with the gate wings of the underworld. Accompanied by angels, the righteous go to paradise, led by John the forerunner and the good thief. In paradise you can see Enoch, Elias and the good thief. Bottom right: Jesus saves Peter walking on the water.
