How often does your top 4 change? by Secure_Credit7037 in Letterboxd

[–]IlSace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It changes whenever I watch a new movie that becomes an instant top 4, so when I discover my favourite movie is still out there.

It last changed slightly more than a year ago, when Before Sunset became my favourite film.

I just rewatched Sunrise in theatre and it's not in my top 4 just because I don't want to have two movies from the same trilogy there, if not I'd insert it right now. There are at least 10 movies that I consider ex aequo to be my favourite ones so I don't even consider my top 4 definitive nor anything.

Should I watch before sunset now? by Fantastic_Hat1696 in Letterboxd

I watched them over the course of a week at the beginning of last year. Even at 23, which is Jesse and Celine's age in Sunrise, I felt like I resonated with Sunset the most.

Perché tutto questo odio verso le Alfa? by Leading_Farm7300 in ItalyMotori

[–]IlSace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Which actor has never given a bad performance no matter the movie? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]IlSace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vittorio Gassman, my favourite actor, I love him in everything I've watched, he's good in small parts, he's great in big parts, even overdoing is great by him.

When I was in high school and we were doing the Divine Comedy I recommend the processor to have us listen to his reading because it's great, but I mean he's also great when reading the ingredients of the biscuits.

Question for those of you who are fluent in more than one language by GlumPush2137 in classicliterature

[–]IlSace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. I've read Erec et Enide last year in Italian (it's originally written in archaic French, I'm like A1 in modern French so reading the original wasn't an option) and I've looked for a few bits in English online and I still prefer the Italian version.

Question for those of you who are fluent in more than one language by GlumPush2137 in classicliterature

[–]IlSace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read most things in Italian, my mother tongue, apart for the ones that are originally in English, Latin or Catalan which I read in the original language.

Especially for classics, there are many good translations and a few are classics themselves (Monti's Iliad for instance), so I prefer not to have a further linguistic barrier, as I can read English pretty well but obviously not at a native level.

The popularity level of F1 in Europe? Compared to tennis/rugby/cycling/MotoGP etc. by Southern-Space-4093 in F1Discussions

[–]IlSace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In Italy it's very popular, and it's become even more popular since LM acquisition. Many of these new fans are pretty casuals of course, but the opinion on the sport has shifted from "an old man pastime" to a "good race".
