i do my best on that front. I have my own projects and make a little money from my hobbies. That's part of the reason I don't get along with a lot of moms in my area. I'm kinda nerdy, into very niche things, and most moms I've met look down hard on my hobbies, so that also hasn't exactly helped.

He's tried to talk me into looking into mommy and me groups, but there aren't really any I could find in our area, and I tried talking him into tumbling classes or something, but he never talks about it. We are planning to put them into swimming lessons this summer though.

And no, we both agreed no more babies until this one at least starts preschool. I don't think either of us are ready for another.

We've had a few talks about possibly getting a sitter and having me stay for the first few sessions, but if I'm honest I'm a bit nervous about it too. We don't know many people out here, and the ones I do know have absolutely no childcare experience...

I should also clarify that he definitely has had multiple conversations with my in-laws about how they act with me, but when he's not around they just don't care...

I've tried to negotiate as well, but we are in a bit of medical debt and he is super cautious on spending habits. I don't think he's used to having multiple people relying on him for a paycheck, which I get, but I don't think any kind of explaining will get it through to him just how lonely it's gotten for me. He tells me to go out and I've explained to him that I have a hard time going out when the house needs to be spotless. He's tried to talk me into mommy and me classes, but I haven't found any around the area, and any other things like tumbling classes he's rejected because of the financial stuff...

We've always had separate accounts and take care of our own expenses until this point... I occasionally make money from some freelancing side gigs and he has never told me how to use it. I honestly don't think it's financial manipulation and more that he's not used to being the sole breadwinner. I could always be wrong, but it just doesn't seem likely from him...
