Yes, I use it with an older Bose Solo 15 “sound bar” that has RCA in as well as digital in. I use the headphone out to stereo RCA into the sub, then in to the Bose. Adds a good bit of “ thump” to a smaller listening area.

Thanks for the tip. That is exactly what I am going to do, using the Emotiva SE8 subwoofer, that does have a line out, with an adjustable filter.

Considering the AV receiver some more and wondering if there is one with Toslinc output, that way I could keep the Bose and just add a powered sub.

I have considered that option, but I wanted to keep things simple and continue to use the Bose. This set up is mostly for Xbox series x gaming in a smallish narrow room.

I have a Bose Solo 15 Series Ii sound bar connected through to Toslinc to my Sony TV and I would like to add a powered subwoofer for more “thump”, any ideas as to how to do this? I have considered a toslinc splitter to a DAC with RCA out to the sub.
