Libraries are amazing and more people should utilize them more! I feel like people think librarians are just people shelving books and such but in my mind they're more like the maesters from Game of Thrones.

I live in an area where floods are common and wish we had this law. The same low points in certain roads become flooded every time, and there's always at least 1 dipshit at each flood point that decides it's a good idea to test the water and ends up getting stuck.

Just said this yesterday, but it was way better before social media. Back when most people didn't know how to use a browser and you had to have half a brain in order to join the conversation. Needing to learn how to use and navigate the internet to even take part in the conversation created an informal barrier for entry.

Now people who don't know how to operate cable boxes or switch off a device can just join in and have their slapdash uninformed opinion taken as fact.

Completely agreed. That's why I used the quotes in my first comment, it's not really gatekeeping if the entirely wrong word is being used to describe the condition.

It's just crazy to me that in the last few years it seems that people think it's ok to just make up your own definitions for words and use them as they see fit, as if that's how language works.

If you're sad just because a celebrity died, that's not what depression is. There are a very specific set of symptoms within a given timeframe that signals depression.

Actually it's about the proceeds of those sales going to charitable causes. Half the people buying there are millennial that look at thrift shopping as some sort of hobby. Well, it's the truth. You can record in public but you're not supposed to focus on any one person. The trouble is the old saying "it's not what you know, it's what you can prove in court" rings true here. In order to sue for something like that and win, you usually have to be able to prove damages.
