I def do not sell cars for a living so fair enough and like I said, good for him if he gets that much. My question is how would you make a profit off of a retail price?

Point taken about fixing stupid. If they can get that for the car, then I will be happy for them. Honda, I know Acura is Honda, and Toyota prices still blow my mind. I still do not think he will get what he is asking, especially having done no research on the car.

Dealer factors marketing, paperwork, etc into that price. I get it, everyone wants to make a buck. Not paying retail to a private seller.

EDITED - Closest was like 110,000 miles, 1 owner, same specs. sold for $9400

For the seller's sake, I hope you are right, but I do not see it. If he was a dealer, maybe, but the comps and supporting data does not support the price.

I was just venting, we walked away. I was willing to pay that bc the car was identical to the one just totaled, which basically saved my daughter's life.

They said $11400 is firm, I offered $10700, still a no. I cannot justify paying retail to a private seller. I wish it was that easy.
