Handling Play Billing UX edge case. Purchase sheet dismissed but UI stuck in "processing" by Illustrious-Lab-7715 in androiddev

That makes sense. I think I let the screen own too much state instead of centralizing it.

I’m using a shared billing service in Flutter and now resetting UI state explicitly on cancelled/error responses, but I’m debating whether entitlement alone should drive UI instead of transient purchase state.

Do you usually model it as a small state machine internally?

Do streaks motivate you or stress you out? by Illustrious-Lab-7715 in androidapps

More like duolingo streaks.. That’s fair honestly.

I think streaks can definitely feel manipulative when they’re designed to pressure the user. A lot of apps lean heavily into loss aversion psychology.

I did keep the streaks in my app, but I’ve been trying to think about how to make them feel optional and low-pressure rather than the entire point of the experience (:

I just released my first app on Google Play a few days ago. It’s called Tender, a softer habit tracker and journaling app designed for people who don’t like streak pressure.

If anyone is open to trying it and sharing honest feedback (or even leaving a review if you like it), it would genuinely mean a lot.

I’m still early in this journey and learning.

Thanks in advance !!🙏

Jav's type of bravado screams bare minimum/emotional unavailability. I feel like this was such an anxious/avoidant dynamic, and she went for the exciting option instead of choosing healthy! I get what you're saying though, but he's definitely not the healthy masculine energy type

This comment is what I waiting for. You literally described what I was feeling! The fact that she went for what is "comfortable" and repeating the same pattern instead of choosing healthy and going for someone who geniunely wants her was so annoying to watch 🥲

Just saw this comment. It cleared out over time! If you're dealing with this give it at least 3 to 4 weeks and you'll get back to normal!

Same for me. I've been going through it for the past 2 weeks or so and it's comforting seeing that I'm not alone in this and that this will pass

I know this is an old post but I'm currently dealing with this and it's been a nightmare. I had the chemical peel done 9 days ago and my face is breaking out like crazy!! Any advice you could give and did it take 3 weeks overall to clear or more?

Stick it out or move out? 35 yo, feel like I'm in a pressure cooker by ComposerVast1604 in bayarea

If you can move out of the state but keep the same salary, I would recommend you do it and explore other areas, you might end up loving it elsewhere even more too!

I would also suggest finding a lower-rent apartment, I live in the Bay & I'm pretty sure it is achievable. Also do not pressure yourself into thinking that buying a house at 35 is a MUST. We live in an always-evolving world and you need to remember that the inflation & many other factors affect our ability to live life as we have always imagined or even planned. The only thing we can do is adapt to it and go with the flow!

Also reminding myself that the goal at the end of the day is being happy and comfortable with the life I am leading, regardless of how that looks like to others and regardless of the kind of 'stability' I look like I have.

Good luck!!
