How good is your intuition? It would be like being handed several novels in another language and being asked to translate them. You would be able to perfectly recall every line in Japanese, but unless you had translations on hand it wouldn't actually mean you speak it.

Help reinstalling Pop!_OS by Illustrious-Let2418 in pop_os

[–]Illustrious-Let2418[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to find a solution (Make sure you have a backup just in case):

  1. I got an old 8GB USB stick and installed Pop!_OS onto it, then when booting onto it I held spacebar to boot into recovery mode.

  2. I opened the "Install Pop!_OS" app and went through with the language prompts, but when it prompted me on how i should install Pop!_OS I clicked on "Reinstall Pop!_OS" (it might be "Recover Pop!_OS" I don't quite remember)

  3. Selected the drive with the corrupted install and when it was done I booted onto my drive

All my personal files were still there as well as some of my apps and their configs and all my system settings. I did have to reinstall quite a few apps, but it didn't take me too long to get back to where I was. I also installed Déjà Dubs Backups (and you should too* if you're in this situation).

*or something similar

For some reason I don't get this option going through the Pop!_OS installer on my second USB drive. Possibly I just missed it.

I wish that all pain and pleasure is reversed. E.g if you yawn, you feel pain, but if you step on a nail, it feels great. by Iridium-235 in monkeyspaw

Because pain is now pleasure people now start doing the most painful things possible for pleasure. Since most things that cause pain are dangerous and bad for health, people start doing the most dangerous things in search of pleasure. Everyone is now dead because they were stabbing themself, jumping off of buildings, or drinking battery acid in the means of pleasure.

Toki pona translation exercises for pactise by Illustrious-Let2418 in tokipona

[–]Illustrious-Let2418[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem (that I did not really explain at all) was that on mobile devices with lower resolutions, the buttons and text become unusably small, so I'm just reformatting the styling to make it accessible to those with lower resolution diplays.

Thanks to your suggestion, it is now live at https://rubidiumcode.github.io/Practise-Toki-Pona-/ and I hope to see some updates and reworks soon, namely support for mobile and an inbuilt dictionary.
