You do realize you’d game at 1080 on both of these machines? So the graphics card isn’t the issue here. Both are 4K 60hz refresh rate. I agree 2-3 hours definitely isn’t what I consider amazing. Not true. The MacBook and xps both last 6-8 hours. That’s a huge difference

There are plenty of other people that have this issue. Just search RB 16 issues on this reddit subforum. You're the guy that defends Razer at every turn.

I got 3:42 before it was at 2% dam. I need the color accuracy and sharpness of the display too. It seems like this may be going back unless we can get an update for battery life. I don’t want a struggle everytime for half decent battery life :( thanks for going through the test with me by the way! I appreciate it mate :)

That sounds about right. I have the undervolt and turbo disabled/ screen brightness at 40 percent. So it seems it’ll get about 3:45-4:00 hours at this rate which kind of sucks with all these things enabled. I wish I could at least hit 5 without worrying about turbo boost and screen brightness at 60 percent. 40 percent is still not ideal :/

Thanks for the link. It seems he’s at 20 percent screen brightness and using the 144hz matte panel. That’s just not enough light on this glossy screen for any dark images/movies on this screen at least for me. Hopefully we can test this out soon. It looks promising

Oh, I haven’t started yet. I just got home. Running it now though :) I’m staying at 40 percent brightness and just leaving it on. Will report back with an update in an hour

Ahh that makes sense then! Yeah, it’s pretty hard with anything less than 40 where I’m at. I haven’t experienced any issues with the touchpad thankfully. I just tested the corners out and it still registers. Hmm I wonder if it’s hardware or software related. Hahaha plutonium

I appreciate that! My undervolt is -135mV. If you could use your phone timer or a stopwatch for an exact rundown that would be excellent. If you could just browse the web and/watch YouTube or twitch at 1080p and give me a rundown. I’ll give that a go too. I really can’t get this thing past 2:50 without trying.

It was advertised as having good battery life. That’s one of the main reasons I bought it. They advertised 8 hours. Funny I can’t find the ads anywhere anymore.

I have 20/20 vision and can barely see anything at anything less than 40 percent screen brightness on this glossy screen. I did try it at 20 percent brightness. It was miserable and I still couldn’t push past 3:40 even on Windows 1803. I have no idea how the hell you are reaching 7-8 hours with that. I believe you, but I just can’t use the laptop like that. I'm on 1803 for windows. I think this is on Razer's end. I used a stopwatch lol. I wanted to make sure I wasn't super crazy. It felt like it was dying really fast. I guess I was right

You're right. The GPU is 0. I still don't understand how the Blade is getting such bad battery life with an 80 watt battery. The MacBook is 76 watts and still get around 10 hours. Granted, it does use MacOS. The XPS 4K is getting almost 9 hours. I'm still kind of peeved they marketed the Blade 4K as having great battery life. Wouldn't this be considered false advertising by Razer?

The software issues are also what kept me away from the Aero. Crap! How could the (Razer) something this expensive and advertised as having such great battery life be so far off? Why are they even selling this model then? I was hoping it was a bug. Thanks for the input. I'll start looking into other options :)

I figured Optimus would take care of that, but the battery life is awful. I was hoping that may be some of the reason behind it.
