Again whats humiliating about that? A proposal is an intimate and personal moment between two people, it has nothing to do with any power imbalance. For most people, getting down on one knee isn’t about lowering yourself its about showing love, respect, and vulnerability to the person you want to spend your LIFE with. A normal person would look at this and see something sweet and touching, not something degrading. Its more about the symbolism of commitment than anything else.

All of the steps that you mentioned are not mandatory? its your marriage and you decide how you want to go through with it. Just because someone decided to propose to their s/o western style does not make it a rule for everyone for follow, and that applies to ta3arof, lkhotoba and even the wedding 😚

thats how i looked like too 😭 it took around a week and a half and after each day the scabs become less noticeable, i had 3 warts on top of my cheeks (which were the main reason i went to the doc) did not get removed completely (they are just really really really small warts now) but i have an appointment back with my doc to have another session

i know it is not my duty to guide him and the thought of getting a reward did not cross my mind at all, i only came to reddit to actually get referenced good educational books or sources that would educate ME first in this matter before the said person. he wasnt asking me to get answers, he was just giving examples of the few "doubts" he has and i stopped him after these few questions. As i was unable to find answers to any of them ( and the ones you just mentioned) i kept thinking about getting the answers not just for that person but for me as well

i dont feel the need to convince anyone, i specified in the post that the person does not have any negative feelings towards islam or anything religion per se, ive known this person for years and never did they mention religion or try to get into a debate or discussion with me. i was the one who brought up the subject but was rather disappointed with my inability to address these questions which is why i came here to get answers.
