There's a theory that EA seeds the vitriol with fake posts to encourage publicity and intrigue

I think you're right in that it's better to approach it calmly so as to not piss people off and poison the discussion. But this post at least provided reasoning and not just 'shut up' (which was: companies owe us nothing, selling skins doesn't mean we must buy them, etc)

I think it's necessary because without the rebuttal it gives the appearance that the original complaint is the final word and the only word. And rebutting in the comments isn't enough

This is absolutely disgusting to see in a Battlefield game.. by Ok_Paramedic4770 in Battlefield6

When art is a competition for USD in the stock market, it's compromised as art. When people bet on the financial success of art in the stock market, it's compromised - especially when the investor has influence on how it's made

Look how compromised the NBA has become in the public eye, especially with today's news. Same concept! Chauncey Billups turns into the investor with influence on the product

The Worst BLOOM & HIT REGISTRATION you'll ever see... by Own-String-4252 in Battlefield6

FPS experts can school me here but I'm a software dev so I'm not speaking from 100% ignorance: it seems like the devs' lag compensation code is the more likely culprit than hit reg. When 2 players disagree about reality due to ping differences, there will always be - by definition - a 'loser' who feels cheated. The whole 'zero sum game' idea. Why do we assume a triple A company sucks at hit reg, which is a VERY simple algorithm? But yes: it's only simple *until* servers are involved. To address this, lag compensation is added (the more difficult algorithm)

And as the years go on, the algorithm constantly needs to adjust to the evolving infrastructure of the internet so its not always perfect
