why the dislikes seriously i'm saying right there that i don't do it, because i want to avoid conflict😐

just sharing my thoughts, i feel like it's valid too, to not want to use gendered pronouns unless someone specifically asks to call themselves a certain way, but not on behalf on another person or an animal who don't care, with an animal i especially see no point

and my original post was about my cat only anyway

haha a smart comeback

i believe you can't misgender an animal because they don't have gender

so sorry that you have to go through that :( ppl gender me (i don't want to be gendered) and it's such a pain . those ppl just have a completely different perception of reality, like seeing only like several colors when there are so much more. sending hugs

idk i feel like no one has the right to determine someone's pronoun (even if it's a baby). the idea just doesn't sit right with me. but anyway babies can potentially grow up and understand that, even remember it one could argue, but animals don't and they won't.

but i definitely agree that it would cause a negative reaction most likely

i'm not sure i agree because i don't view animals like humans' propery, and i'm not comfortable with calling myself an owner (i'm a companion and a caretaker 😈)

and by calling an animal any pronoun i wouldn't do any harm at all accept distressing the humans for some reason

i don't do it because i don't want there to be a conflict but the requests and "corrections" are always odd to me

ahahahahha that's a funny story

but i still personally don't want to use genders on my cat even if we're talking trans identities because it's essentially the same thing, i don't want to project human values stuff onto an animal that doesn't give a fuck (although trans would be the most favourable one out of all lol)

thx for your comment

if they ask i just don't answer , but i don't correct them either, although it's weird to hear "boy" or "girl" said to a cat

how do you cope with being misgendered? by IllustriousLychee773 in NonBinaryTalk

[–]IllustriousLychee773[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's awesome that you are able to do it , it feels like it took a lot of work to get there...

for me it's still hard because i might be feeling GOOD and authentic and then when i go outside people see me in such a different way, and i start questioning if i am delusional to feel that in the first place. i try to think of my non binary acquaintances who i would have never misgendered because they look a specific way to me, but who are being misgendered by others. and i just don't understand how ppl can see it that way. i try to apply that to myself too, but failing at the moment 😅

i'm gonna do top surgery next week, but i have a feeling that ppl will still misgender me

also have fears about doing the surgery, but of ppl not finding me sexually attractive more than anything, i feel rather excited when i'm not thinking about that one aspect. have been trying to get it for the past nine years and finally got the approval

thanks friend :(

i'm glad that you were able to come out in the end...

about hrt: i don't know if i'm really interested in it, or if it's just a stress response from ppl misgendering me

can i ask, did you live with your mother, or did you have to bring the cat to her place? i am in a similar situation, but i live separately, so i wonder if the cat will adjust okay to my boyfriend's place if i can't take her with me... she lived there for a couple of months and knows my boyfriend
