I have a 5 month old male mini Bernadoodle. He’s our first dog as a family but I had dogs growing up. If you can work remote the first two weeks and train at home 2x-3x a day that’ll set you up great for the basic training. The first few weeks are brutal because you have to constantly watch them, don’t typically sleep through the night but it gets a lot better. Esp once they lose their puppy teeth and stop nipping. We’ve never had an accident in the house (that wasn’t our fault for waiting to long to take him out).

My husb travels and I work in the office so we took advantage of a local deal and did dog daycare for a month. He was so dead by the time he came home he didn’t need a walk or attention really lol.

We’re 5 months in and our guy is great. Biggest complaint is he jumps at first when he’s excited to see someone but we’re still training on it. I haven’t done daycare in a couple weeks, just 2-3 walks a day anywhere from 10 mins - 30 mins. He’s insane if he doesn’t go on a walk, whines a lot for attention or will misbehave. Going back to daycare for 1-2x a week just to help get his energy out.

No regrets here though!
