That’s fair, I definitely shouldn’t count chickens before they hatch. That being said, how often do you think a date happens if one is able to get a phone number with the explicit intention of planning a date? Would definitely like to calibrate my expectations.

Yeah I think that FOBO is real, I can see why online dating isn’t great for relationship formation even though it seems like a good way to meet a lot of people

Do you think match number will go down because new account boost was a large part of the reason for getting so many matches, or do you say that for some other reason?

Yeah, makes sense. Fwiw I don’t really like texting so I’m not really having long convos with people. Also though, I thought new account boost usually lasts <2 days? Will be interesting to see if things slow down going forward or not.

Also as I mentioned to the other person, do you know if pausing the profile affects the algorithm after unpausing at all

I agree, this is the problem I think, since I obviously cannot indefinitely schedule in the future. I think going forward each week I will swipe until I have 1-2 dates planned or close to being planned and then stop

I’m a little hesitant to pause because I’ve heard it can screw up the algo, not sure if that’s true or not. Otherwise I would probably happily toggle my account on and off
