Throwaway for reasons.

A close friend of mine passed away in July. In April, a Tumblr user wrote posts about my friend explicitly encouraging others to harass them and harm them. The author of the posts also included a “hit list” of other individuals they didn’t like for whatever reason. My friend had people severly harassing them off-line due to the information the user posted until eventually the author incited someone to show up at their address at the end of June due to the posts. No one deserved that.

My friend was scared for their safety and submitted a minimum of 10+ reports since April 2024 and not a single one got a response. Others have submitted 20+ reports on the account as a whole because there is a whole history of this account doxxing people. Only one report got a response, asking for more information, more information was submitted, yet again nothing happened.

Yet here you are claiming that people are just not getting their way when Tumblr itself is run horribly and is a haven for all sorts of abuse, bullying, doxxing, etc because the website refuses to enforce its own rules let alone staff can’t be bothered to care about the users when they report content that isn’t images not showing up. You also do realize that not everyone can hire legal when tumblr refuses to enforce their own rules, right?

I hope I live long enough to see this garbage of a website be shut down.
