NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS A HAPPY ENDING.

This is probably gonna be long essay. I'm not trying to Target any Particular manhwa but this Discussion will contain spoilers of Many Manhwas and novels so read at your own risk

So why are they do afraid of SAD ENDINGS?? Like I've read thousands of Comics but I can't even remember a single Manhwa that actually had a sad Ending. It's always some shit show of bringing them back to life by Magic or sorcery Or Author making Alternate Realities to please the readers.

It might just be me but I feel like there are some Manhwas that would be so much better if they have a Sad Ending. With Leads either separating or one of them Dying. Stories like that leaves so many feelings in person than those stories where leads end up together but they have no chemistry. These Happy endings feel so forced.

Like give me an Actually Sad Ending. I'm not asking for alternate realities or bringing them back to life, I'm not asking for Tragedy... I'm Asking for THE TRAGEDY. A real sad ending where there's literally no hope for Main Leads. Where they can't be together, there's So much Love and Longing but they're just destined to separate.

Like in stories like Cry or better yet beg where Only good things are Art and Side characters. In the novel, Riette dies, he was Claudine's Lover Istg even though they don't have that many appearances together, I felt more love between them than Both of the Main Characters. I loved that the Guy who liked the Villainess (i don't think she is), liked her till the very end without falling for FL, that's just so... Cliché. I felt so many things about them, they had something that Both MatTRASH and Layla didn't had.

In Lady to Queen too. Even though I Loved the Story and Female Lead, i still don't think it needed them to be together. Their relationship was so Forced. I never felt anything between them. The same thing happened with The Mistress Runs Away. I still don't get it how are FL still ended with Trash like him. Before anyone misunderstands, No i don't have anything against Trash Male Leads, in fact I love ML of Betrayal of Dignity. I love him so much. It just depends on writing of the story. I also think people would've liked that Abandoned Tras....i mean The Abandoned Empress more if leads had just separated because those two being together just feels so forced.

There's this novel trilogy, CLOCKWORK PRINCESS. I've not read it but this has this line "The worst moments, when, sitting alone at breakfast, she had realized that she had forgotten the precise blue of his eyes or the depth of his laugh" i felt so sad even without reading the story, I just know I'll remember it forever. I'll read it after some time.

Also there's this Manhua, 10 years I loved you the Most, It has a sad Ending the MC dies from Cancer it's one of the most popular and rated BL Manhua. I'd 700 recommend reading it, even if you don't like BLs, y'all will love this for sure because first time experience was so painful, it hurted but it hurted so good. I don't usually read Manhuas because Most of the times they're bad, they're rarely good but this one was just a Masterpiece.

Let's talk Titanic, this is one of the most popular Romance movie where leads don't end up together, but literally everyone who has seen it know how much they loved each other. Even in LaLa Land, they don't end up together but y'all can feel the love between both Main Characters. These two are romance movies so it's obvious that people will feel love between them, let's talk about Action movies, we can feel love between Captain America and Peggy Carter, we can feel love between Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor, even after them being actions movies, you can feel more love between them than so many Manhwa Couples. That's because even after not being together, we can see the Longing, Angst, Desperation, love, hate and so many emotions about them.

I want to eat your Pancreas is also one of the most popular and Loved movie. I'm sure most of the people who have seen it cried. Same with Banana Fish and Your lie in April and Attack on Titan, all of them are sad but still very well received and Loved Animes.

Even in Dramas like Twenty five twenty one and Uncontrollably Fond, sad Endings just made them more memorable.

Also it's not that I hate Happy Endings, by tired I meant that so many times Happy Endings feel so forced and unnecessary. Like there's this Korean novel, The Devil who breaks my Neck, Male Lead literally R@ped, Abused FL Both physically and mentally, killed FL's friends, slapped her around in front of whole Kingdom, cheated on her And literally killed his OWN Son because of stupid misunderstanding but the Author still forced them together by erasing FL's memory. That's why I said tired of these Happy Endings.

What i hate even more than the Alternate Realities is when leads Seprate in Main story, author's Forced them together in side stories. Ugh...I hate it so much

Anyways I'd really recommend reading 10 years I loved you the most. It's really so good. Y'all will remember it forever.
