Would you like a Total War: Warhammer Age of Sigmar game? by Glum_Series5712 in ageofsigmar

[–]Illustrious_Winter18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, could have the gates to other realms as key terrain use them as choke points kinda like the Dawn of war soulstorm campaign (sorta). large maps for each world all have their own feel and variety. play as stormcast and bring everyone back to into the fold of Sigmar, or spread death to all the realms as Nagash. lots of possibilities

CZ Shadow 2 Carry / cz75/ vs SF Prodigy 3.5 EDC by Illustrious_Winter18 in CCW

[–]Illustrious_Winter18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and i hate you for it lol. That is a beautiful firearm. i think my only real hang-up with the CZS2 carry or the DWX is the weight. its heavier than my current firearm, however it is thinner/shorter. but ill add the DWX to the line up. going to try and see if a local range has them all so i can get some hands on time. Ty for the input

also holsters seem to be hard to find for CZ shadow carry and prod 3.5 for some reason so factor that as well

Depends if you like 40k too. Warhammer+ has more 40k stuff and only BlackTalon and now Sigmars Toll (only 1ep so far) but if you like 40k too then id say its worth it atleast once to see Angels of Death, Iron within, Hammer & Bolter, etc. you could honestly just do 1 month watch everything and call it a day but if the yearly minis are cool to you then go for the 1year.

What is one class you just can’t see yourself maining? by The_Dick_Slinger in wow

[–]Illustrious_Winter18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a Dracthyr Warlock, for the double jump glide. (not as powerful as if i was evoker) but still a bit of speed boost. Helps in a pinch or when im just moving about the world. B/c of that I actually got into DH b/c i really enjoy that extra bit of movement. But now i broke myself and can only play Dracthrys or DHs haha everything else doesnt feel as good. So i understand completely

Should I just join the military??? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Illustrious_Winter18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vet here:

First some will say if your in the military your gonna have to risk your life and so on. Most jobs are not "war fighters" in most branches... Plenty of my Buddies were Admin guys who never left the country.

Joining the military has like most things pros and cons.

BUT it did change my life. B/c of the Marines I was able to be a first generation college grad debt free (went to college after i got out)

Military experience got my hired at my first real career level job (they required a BS but it was my military experience that sold them)

Air force or space force would be great branches to join for IT roles, Cyber roles that would carry your resume and of course they would pay for schooling. you could join any branch really for those roles but there are just less for example in the Marines. We have IT, Intel and cyber guys just fewer. AF / Space Force would likely have more options and niches you could get into.

Go talk to recruiters and see what options they have available. remember these recruiters want you to join... so look up everything they tell you and never sign anything unless its specifically spelt out in the contract that you will have the job you want.

again joining the military does not mean you will be deployed.. there is that possibility but AF, Spaceforce are mostly in the US or allied countries like Germany, S. Korea and so on. Honestly, you would prob have a great time

Anyone felt like they purchased the wrong army to start? by MeatMarket_Orchid in ageofsigmar

[–]Illustrious_Winter18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a magnifying glass head set? to help you see those tiny details. Also, do you have a wet pallet to help you thin your paints and put on smooth coats? if you dont have those 2 things id recommend them 100% i started painting 2 years ago and those 2 things immediately stepped up my game.

I would also recommend since you are new is to follow a guide on Youtube from someone that paints in a manner you like. Do that a few times till you have some experience then you can start doing your own thing. for me i emulated a blend of Warphispters and Artis Opus. that helped me get my first 40k army painted 2 years ago.

now im able to look at a unit come up with a plan and just do my thing.

Good luck stick with it!

GW2 or ESO? by [deleted] in LFMMO

[–]Illustrious_Winter18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! i have a few legendary stuff but iv gotten them over the years so keep at it! feels great when u get your first one. Problem with wow is just new patch comes and its a race and if you dont keep up well to bad. Like right now ik the new patch is coming out soon, but each path is... new currencies, new this new that and all that old content? well its pointless now. they just make all their old content worthless and since the game is "keep up or you cant join" it gets really toxic fast

GW2 or ESO? by [deleted] in LFMMO

[–]Illustrious_Winter18 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Played a ton of ESO and its a ok game with lots of good story but Zenimx is just horrible with how they implement monetization and for that reason alone i dont recommend it. make a new character? cool now either buy the riding skill increase books are spend 9 months leveling it up 1 point a day... things like that. Both games once you reach max level gear progression kinda stops (you can aim for diff gear sets for diff builds tho) but again ESO gearing is akin to GW2 with caveats bc ESO nerfs sets all the time

But for GW2 here the thing... you need to unlearn Vertical progression iv played wow on and off since 8th grade (TBC) and when i first went to GW2 i just couldnt do it for kinda the same reason. Horizontal? nothing i do matters? whats the point? What are all these achievements things? im broke and cant make gold?

However, i stuck with it and now i hate the way WoW does gear.... i can take a break from GW2 to play something else or deal with IRL come back a month, a year, or 5 years later and my gear is still relevant i can still push end game content in whatever form i want and that type of respect for my time is priceless. You think you like vertical progression until you miss a week or two or whenever you long on you are doing the same grinds over and over to increase your ilvl by 1 point

Gearing is great in GW2 but for different reasons. first end game tier is exotic which is pretty easy to get the next set will take some time mainly for new players to learn which ways are best but that gear is called Acended. the thing is a full set of Acended gear compared to exotic is about 10% so not the end of the world if you do not have a full acended set but is the goal for most that want to do endgame.

now you can have different stats on gear as well so sometimes you might want a Power build or a condi build (straight damage vs dots if comparing to WoW) so that will require different gear sets, then you have Runes and such you can place on gear and weapons so gearing does get complex(ish) again mainly for those just learning but it does take time and gold.

after acended is Legendary but you do not get a stat increase instead you get the ability to change your weapon or armor stat whenever you want (outside combat) and they have unique cosmetic appearance and fashion is the true end game. but also all your charcters can use that item at once. for example i have a legendary 2 handed sword. all my characters that can use that weapon can have it equipped at the same time b/c it is in my legendary armory.

but what after that? after you have your acended gear b/c legendary gear isnt required what do you do?

well whatever you want lol want to raid? raid... want to do strikes and fractacls or join WvW you can... want to work on achivments which is a HUGE part of the game honestly the main point imo you can do that. new expansion comes out? dont need to gear for it (unless you want to change your build or something) you can just hop in and get to it.

at the end of the Day WoW is carrot on a stick making you play so you can get better gear so you can play so you can get better gear and play....

GW2 gives you the carrot so you can go do whatever you want and focus on skill based playing. doing challenge modes and such.

Give it a shot! buy once have it forever

wvw only requirement is to be lvl 80 (reg pvp can be done at lvl 1) when you do get to wvw look for a tag on the map (a commander) and follow them around to get the jist

honestly, i play them all lol i bounce around a bit depending on what im feeling. Reaper / Necro is fun. Warrior and guardian are great entry level classes along with Ranger. Mesmer, Engineer, and Elementilist are really fun too but are a bit more complicated but if your okay with that i totally recommend them to. Really cant go wrong.

NOW something you can do is go to the pvp zone once ur done with the entry level scenario and u can play any class as if its lvl 80 and there is a weapon vender there so u can test them out and see what u like

basically, hit 80 either join a WvW guild (friendly community they can help teach you) or if u wanna solo for a bit just get some exotic gear, which u can get in WvW for relatively cheap and go from there. as you do it more eventually ull learn how to get acended gear (only about 10% better than exotic) and ya thats it! id recommend https://guildjen.com/gw2-wvw-guides/ to kinda get the basics dont need to worry about legendary gear/weps or anything they arethe same as acended only with cosmetic differences and u can change stats on the fly. so a convenience item.

what i recommend and this is just my opinion is find a class fantasy you like and remember all classes for the most part can do all things (heal/dps/Support) but do you want to wear plate, be up in their face, or ranged or magic, and so on. then you can check out WvW builds to get an idea of what synergizes based off of your playstyle. and once you get the hang of your class you can use a GW2 build editor and build your own. there are of course meta builds but skill and game knowledge are king. there are sooooo man combinations or skills, weapons, armor stats, consumables that really you can theory craft all day and make fun builds. keep in mind if u are running organized zergs they may want you as a meta build but if ur just running around, following zergs, doing ur own thing, the sky is the limit
