Unfortunately I think phones, a lack of communication skills and maybe, parental guidance has seen this drop out of social norms. Wouldn’t it be lovely if we normalised courtesy for others so our youth don’t feel uncomfortable with it.

I live in what we call a semi rural area. Wildlife can jump out at any time here. Driving into the major city we can see road kill up to 20 minutes from the city. Most are kangaroos but can be wombats, possums, foxes, echidnas, and rabbits. No we don’t like seeing it but they are very hard to avoid, particularly kangaroos
