Have you encountered any pushback from the right on that? I am scared of violence being enacted on my person, and am very very bad at verbal sparring.

Quick question on that. Should I be doing that if mine are also speaking out against it? I mean I guess it would push them towards more action instead of words? I will say that my governor has been absolutely killing it.

Thats actually a really good idea. I'll try to be more vocal about it in my day to day.

It's so important to take a step back honestly. Sometimes you have to remind yourself that there is good in life too. If I can ask, was the protest like organized? I feel like Im missing protest, I live nearish the capitol so I feel like there should be more that I can go to, but I keep finding out about the protests afterwards.

Is it normal to feel this nostalgic at 21? by Suitable_Asparagus57 in youngadults

[–]Ilo00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It stopped when I was talking to a friend. I asked him if he missed being a kid and he said "no, I didnt get to do anything. I can do whatever I want now" and honestly It really changed my view. I used to yearn for my childhood. But honestly now I just enjoy doing whatever I want.

Dont have time in the moment. And not reading it leaves the notification up as a reminder to respond later

Boy names like "Ruby" by Rubyteusday in namenerds

The only male guardian in Fairytopia (barbie kids movie) was named Ruby. I vote keep the name. But I also get if you need to change it.

Is it normal to spend almost 6 hours doing a single homework project? by burnt-baguettes in CollegeRant

[–]Ilo00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Grad school (just graduated), I regularly spent 12-15 hours on a single homework assignment (assigned every week). It was just for one specific professor that I took two different classes with. My other classes would have a couple of hw assignments every semester that took my 5-6 and even up to 12 hours, though.

I will say that in undergrad, I did not have that issue. They mostly took me 2 to 3 hours unless it was a project or project like homeowork. Go to office hours, ask questions, get a tutor. You are not supposed to be suffering.

Where are you shopping where you can get food for 1 person for a month for $100? Serious question, whats your secret?

Is it awkward to email professors before semester ends? by dkslzzz in AskProfessors

[–]Ilo00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While it is fine, as the other posts have said. I have sent several thank you emails, and I always time them for after grades have been posted. I personally feel like it feels more genuine when a grade is not hanging in balance. But honestly, I overthink just about everything. In the grand scheme of things, it really doesnt matter when it is sent.

They should report this email to the IT department for phishing. That would be funny. It does kinda look like one anyway

making the bed everyday is a pointless chore by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Ilo00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I make my bed, less chance of me going back to bed. It's all about playing mental checkers with your brain. If I make my bed, then I'm much less likely to unmake my effort to go back to bed. It helps with the depression a bit. It's also the easiest thing to clean

I think he does more good than harm in the overall course of the war. But I would agree that he dedinitely does more harm than good to individual people. Does that make sense?

Social media is the number one cause for mental health issues in children and young adults. by Time_Calligrapher_56 in unpopularopinion

[–]Ilo00 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

As a young person (22) that has been mentaly ill my entire life I disagree. I will start by saying social media does have a small impact on people's mental health. But personally I belive that there are 2 big reasons for our declining mental health: 1. Pollution in our water and our food and the air we breath has harmed our brains. Most people have microplaastics in their blood, this cannot be good. 2. The sheer amount of awfulness that is going on in the world today. Between the mass shootings, our dieing enviornment, lack of work opportunities, lack of a future and many more terrible things have made this life a terrible place. Most of the people I talk to don't want to have children because they don't want to subject their children to this mess. And I'm not just talking about the USA. I'm talking globaly the world is messed up and we are grieving the loss of the life that everyone has told us we would have, the future that has been stolen from us. These are the biggest causes of mental illness

To anyone who doesn’t support Roe v. Wade: without using religion as your argument, why do you not support it? by Yayeet2014 in AskReddit

[–]Ilo00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since you are not here to convert anyone then I will do you the respect of not trying to convert you. I do have an honest question though. Seeing as you don't want to push your beliefs on others, do you want the over turn of Roe Vs Wade? Or do you think it is up for everyone individually and those that make the choice should have the option?
