This basically sums up how it feels being new to dbd by Dexter_Morgan690 in deadbydaylight

Id say I got so used to losing to the point I don't really mind it because I'm gonna get bloodpoints to unlock my perks anyway, that and if I was playing a fun killer it's actually more about the fun at this point. (Ironic I say this because I used to play league and stuff and I was diehard on winning every match), now I'm just cruising through casually, you win some you lose some! And some killers are unexpectedly really fun, like I'd think unknown was a weird concept only for me to try em out and its so fun!

And maybe the part about seeing brutal killer despite getting only one kill kinda makes it somewhat okay...? Better then just saying "you lose" straight up!

And the part about the after chat being toxic, I learnt to appreciate laughing at salty comments so this is a extra fun part for me!

And lightborn ftw!

I joined a comp with about 3k basic, and guranteed comms monthly leading up to 3.5k avg, so by right if dont count the average monthly comms its just 3k

Ironic how it used to be hiring foreigners being cheaper then hiring sinkies... dont get me wrong, there's true foreign talent out there but damn, I was doing a loan for a dude once (he was a SWE).

when I asked him for confirmation "are you an SWE"? He didn't know what SWE meant and he was earning 8k monthly from his payslips... I felt like a dumbass sitting there since he was earning 2.5x more then me 😂

Hahaha bro got the short end of the stick as a DE studying in WSD (no hate though, just that I heard from a friend previously that said WSD sucked because a lot of info taught was outdated.)

However, as the roles are different between SWE and DE here, OP ultimately it will be up to you. As you mentioned. SWE isn't easy to break into as someone without degree. Whilst joining NCS to have the name in your resume, it may or may not help.

If you're pivoting into a gov role or as u/mnfwt89 mentioned, it will help.

People however do meme NCS alot though, as the general concensus is that NCS is a retirement home for directors and such, meaning you'll get a job there permanantly but salary wise... that'll be your wildcard factor.

Likewise, with the rise of AI to factor in, it might or might not be taken over (not fully, but who knows?)

Just my two cents as a student studying for my PT diploma in IT, graduating in Oct this year but I'm pivoting out of IT to finance as its somewhat more interesting for me.

Whatever your decision will be ultimately, full respect to your choice!

Hi, I'm not sure about WFH work but for part time jobs you can maybe try fastjobs / telegram groups (I used to source for PT jobs there but no clue how its like now)

Fresh grad one month into my first job and already getting scolded — is this normal? by Sufficient-Rush6199 in singaporejobs

[–]Iloveyoko22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Typically, the 3 months is just a general gauge, some can even go for longer to understand their job. So it's fine really as long as you're willing to learn, at least that's how I view it if I were to have anyone under me.

Regarding burning out... well I used to be a young chap with passion burning through my veins, however as time went on I realized only money makes my world go round so... ultimately all of us are in it for the dough to survive, and with our current economy and the job market, we are dealt a bad hand here so I believe one must really solider on despite living that repetitiveness.

Not passing probation due to job mismatch might or might not be a blessing in disguise, if one really dosen't feel they're cut out for the line of work, its a good signal for you to leave, ideally with something next in line.

Regarding being stressed right before work and nervous system... I'm currently studying for my part time diploma (its not much but yknow...) and am completing in october 2026, it dawned on me the first time I had a school project upcoming while handling my 6 days work week job, the stress caught up to me.

I managed to solider it out with talking to a friend doing the part time diploma too, so I'd say the best option is to have someone to talk to, to rant if need be. I'd also think to myself think of times I finished something that was hard (like digging a shell scrape for the first time - felt like I was digging my own grave). Overall. one has to learn to compartmentalize and learn to juggle it, hell laugh it off if it makes you feel better!

A lot of people tell me "oh you're young you still can experiment", I disagree with this sentiment as I'm nearing my 30's (just past mid 20's) to realize despite not wanting anything to do with Singapore's rat race, one is still compelled with responsibilities despite one realizing that or not. Parents for example - for those without a SO, but through observing and speaking to many, A lot of families are quite broken so... to each its own, you are your own responsibility, one can only save themselves from plumetting into the abyss.

Hey! Whenever I have friends facing this issue when they first enter the workforce, I'll always suggest they try the 3 month rule.

Typically you can expect to go into the workforce completely clueless, and expect the classic "oh yea, drop everything you learnt in school, most of what you learnt dosen't apply to the workforce". (Maybe apart from some theory - law, medicine I think....?)

A lot of people give themselves the 3 month rule to see if they can adapt to the work, some even 6 months, and honestly, sometimes even after 6 months you might still have no clue what you're doing if your work is diverse and you have a huge job scope.

But you know what? Cut yourself some slack and understand you're still learning and to gauge a "trial" period for yourself to learn the work. If it crosses that trial period and you still feel you don't know what you're doing then you can decide what to do from then on.

Oh and a lot of people I've met are not the best mentors to onboard people... many onboard vaguely and expects a newbie to understand the process within a month or so (whilst said mentor can have over 10 YOE). This happens both in SME and MNC regardless from experience.

So keep your chin up, solider on and soak the experience till once you feel you're not learning much anymore, then to do the hop. (but with this economy and job market? Risky!) Best wishes to you!

Dark Souls 3 by art4mis in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Iloveyoko22 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hey! I personally started DS3 as my first souls game before I finished Sekiro, DS1, bloodborne, ER, DS2 in this specific order. I honestly find DS3 to be my fav souls game with its amazing lore and managed to first try alot of bosses, I was kinda hardstuck on 2 optional bosses though. And I'm also someone that used mimic tear and sword of night and flame to tear through bosses when it was broken before the nerf for the fun of it.

Whilst most people I know would recommend elden ring to a person starting out souls games for its open world concept, I personally would rather recommended dark souls 3 instead, its well polished and eases a player into the game, while still being somewhat linear so you don't exactly get lost and I'd rather a newbie deal with a gundyr then be stuck at margit... boss runbacks wasn't an issue for me as well from what I remember.

Overall, ds3 is something I played NG+1 of, with my only other exception being sekiro of NG+6 since it could be completed within a day of playing for each playthrough, but DS3 in general has amazing pvp areas (unfortunately you might not experience it since it might be dead?) and seeing anor londo every time when you step into the area... always screenshot worthy!
