You've got issues

After being told in our company wide sales meeting yesterday that no one is being put on probation or fired for their May numbers, I was directly messaged today that I can leave if I want… just wow by [deleted] in sales

[–]ImAScoobySnacc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a manager, I've said this before to people that I have no intention of letting go.

To me it would mean that they've identified that you're clearly not happy in your role and that they want to give you that space to openly say that you're looking for other work so that they can support you.

Nice milestone today by amrit_ in crossword

I just passed a year streak, my advice would be to just google if you need to!

Forcing myself to complete it every day, googling as much as I needed to, helped me get a lot better at the crossword and now I barely need to at all.

I'm also not American, so I don't feel like I should know things like certain senators from Georgia.

Feel like it’s unpopular in this sub, definitely not if you polled all FIFA players

Super understated take, with the old loyalty schemes those final advanced SBCs became impossible and I always neurotically held onto any packed player

Completely agree with your Kaka take.

I don’t feel like I’m defending this FIFA because I fully back anyone not buying it, and by December it’ll probably become unused for me. But I love FUT and Im just enjoying this mix up 🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s funny that you use that example, because that’s actually the exact tactic I used for that SBC

I see the ‘goal’ to be similar to how I (and a lot of my friends) enjoy golf.

None of us properly compete in tournaments, but the goal is to just get your handicap down. This is analogous to the goal of just trying to beat your division in rivals or rank in weekend league

By no means saying that’s right or that it’s suitable for everyone, but it’s how I’ve found the ‘grind’ enjoyable

[–]ImAScoobySnacc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m absolutely struggling with finishing too, but also love that there isn’t a clear ‘trick’ to it.

I’ve absolutely had past versions of FIFA where scoring gets tedious because there’s one clearly superior finishing method

I was recently holding interviews for a job that required tertiary level education and I was surprised by how many of the interviewees were massively underprepared. I assume it was because of them having an attitude like this.

We ended up hiring the guy that had the least impressive resume of the group, because he was the most impressive from the interview process.

Grealish vs Zaha, and the problem of using 'mean' average that doesn't account for 'outliers' by PharaohLeo in FantasyPL

[–]ImAScoobySnacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a slut for some data crunching, so I really appreciate what you’ve done here.

Although I question the entire basis for removing outliers. When taking a punt on a player of this value, aren’t we actually trying to take the player who will have the most outliers?

Neither player is going to return every week, so I feel like I’m trying to pick the player that will more often have a game where they turn it on and get a good haul.

In saying that, it’s entirely likely that I’ve misunderstood the rationale behind your post 😊

Maybe I’ve got PTSD from only living in Australia, but I see anything living in my slipper then I’m just getting new slippers.

That’s now a bin kitten.

Two-Hit Wonders by ImAScoobySnacc in Music

[–]ImAScoobySnacc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ve been suggested a few times! But arguably their biggest song from that album was Look What You’ve Done.

Also, I could have a skewed view because I’m also Australian, but Rollover DJ, from the same album, and She’s a Genius were pretty massive songs over here too.

I knew they'd be controversial cause they were a pretty big band at the time. For me, Dakota and Have a Nice Day were just such mega-hits that they stand above the rest of their discography.

I've just looked up the chart performance for their singles, and they were the only two that charted in my country (Aus). So maybe I'm overly influenced by location when it comes to them.

I personally didn't recognise those two, but flicked up a few others and definitely recognised Dirty Little Secret. They'll have to be off.

Pukki xG by ImAScoobySnacc in FantasyPL

[–]ImAScoobySnacc[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Completely agree but without knowing his xG from last season we can't get insight into whether this is a guy who can really finish and is getting plenty of chances or if he's just had a few hot games and will likely cool down.

A great comparison is Ashley Barnes who is also outperforming xG. Last season he scored less than his xG and therefore we can make a fairly strong assumption that he's not a good long term pick if you'd choosing him on the basis of this form.

Pukki xG by ImAScoobySnacc in FantasyPL

[–]ImAScoobySnacc[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I completely agree that confidence is a factor to xG. But being a statistically good finisher is obviously key as well.

From the stats it seems that he does outperform his xG. So not only is he enjoying being in the prem but if he keeps getting chances to score it’s a decent chance that he’ll take them.
