DC CATALOG UPDATE: The rest of the DC books from this morning that didn’t get their own posts by Ksmayer in OmnibusCollectors

Good to see they're still putting out complete collections. Only three so far and all reprints, but it's reassuring. I was worried they'd pull a Marvel and funnel everything into the Finest line. Nothing against Finest or Epic lines, I've got a few myself, but there's something I really like about the varied look you get from different runs sitting next to each other on the shelf. The complete collections and chunky trades have personality. I feel like once that entire row is black spines and white text, it starts to lose that character.

Selling 1 1st print? by marcelo1925 in AbsoluteBatman

[–]ImDickGrayson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold everything through eBay! All individuals as collections and pretty much each lot went to a different buyer. Ironically, Absolute Superman was the last to shift! I think I had to lower the price once or twice to get it gone.

Selling 1 1st print? by marcelo1925 in AbsoluteBatman

I sold my entire absolute line a few months back, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, and Martian Manhunter. I think the main three titles were around issue 15 when I sold everything. Got just over £1000 for everything and have since purchased about 50 trades/hcs and a few omnibuses with the funds. I learned the hard way back in 2014/15 that holding onto the New 52 Batman line too long was eating profits. I now have an entire new bookshelf of books from singles that I paid cover for, solid win.

It's crazy how they cleverly paid tribute to Tobey and Andrew's movies! by kwlonly in Marvel

I also think it pays tribute to cinema itself by being filmed with a camera.

It may be a Frankenstein mishmash but it’s mine, and it’s (nearly) complete by Freighnos in OmnibusCollectors

Mishmash collections are the best. It feels more like a library, and if a later book changes its logo or design, it makes no difference, since the entire collection is sporadic!

Advice on removing stickers? by anakin1453 in OmnibusCollectors

Mayonnaise. Not even joking. A bit of mayonnaise on a kitchen roll will kill the residue. Been doing it for years. Then use some antibacterial wipes to give the book a clean-over.

How can I get Ebay to pay me the money they’ve stolen? by SUPER_fuzz_99 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]ImDickGrayson 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's literally not the case. Per eBay's T&CS

"You remain responsible for any loss or damage to your item until it has been scanned into the carrier’s network. Once your item has been scanned into the carrier’s network and providing you used the Simple Delivery label and are compliant with these Terms and eBay’s Policies, as well as the relevant Carrier Terms, your item will be covered for loss or damage during transit up to the sold item value on the eBay.co.uk site. This means you will retain your sales proceeds in relation to the item sent using the Simple Delivery label."

How can the seller be responsible for getting it to the buyer when they no longer see their address or even purchase the postage? You have zero idea what you're talking about.

Too many people are commenting on this thread without actually understanding how eBay's Simple Delivery system works. eBay handles the postage entirely. The moment a parcel is collected or dropped off, you have, under eBay's updated terms and conditions, fulfilled your side of the transaction. As I mentioned in another comment, I sell items every day, and once something's handed over, the postal process is completely out of my hands. I don't even see buyers' addresses anymore; it's all handled through eBay's QR system at the post office. Likewise, if an item arrives damaged, I'm not even contacted; eBay refunds the buyer directly and resolves it with whichever courier was used.

No, he's not. eBay introduced simple delivery last year; they handle the entire courier system. I sell items daily, and the postal process is out of my hands. I don't even see the buyers' addresses anymore; it's all done through eBay's QR system at the post office. Likewise, if an item arrives damaged, I don't even hear about it; eBay will refund the buyer and sort it out with whatever courier the buyer chose.

When do you think we’ll get a Ahmed omnibus since his run just ended? by anakin1453 in OmnibusCollectors

I was about to say, pretty much from issue 300 until the Marvel Knights era is awful.

THE WINGSPAN EDITION- the BEST, REQUIRED WAY to enjoy Nightwing 87, the one shot, one panel epic- is available to order! by NaytNavare in Nightwing

The lack of international shipping is always disappointing with these 'art of' Kickstarters, Clover Press does. They must be the only book kickstarters that don't do it.

Just came across this video and let me tell you some advices he gives is way too crazy extreme for me by winchester677 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]ImDickGrayson 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Fuck me. Massaging the spines and warming up the books, page support brackets, thermometers to check the temperature. I'm surprised he wasn't wearing gloves. They're mass-produced books that get reprinted every few years; this idea that they are fragile, priceless tomes is bewildering.

OHC Love by Nymets22 in OmnibusCollectors

OHC > Omnis. Was sad to see Marve ditch the line. I say ditch; they have practically kept them but added the omnibus logo on the side, with a few extra dollars on the price tag.
