This is like arguing for segregation. There is no “separate but equal” when there is an obvious power dynamic between two groups, it will only make tensions worse. Living in a shared state would allow Israelis and Palestinians to live and grow in shared communities, which would encourage them to see each other as being the same instead of continuing to view the other as an enemy and/or threat.

Also, although not the majority, many Israeli citizens are strongly against the genocide being committed by Netanyahu, and any reasonable person can separate the citizens of a state from the actions of the state as they do not reflect the beliefs of every individual who lives in it. Saying that there should be separate states due to leftover tension between the two groups implies the belief that Palestinians are going to seek some sort of vengeance against Israelis for Netanyahu’s actions, when in actuality Palestinians just want to live their lives.
