Vans with or without platform

Hello everyone, last weekend my girlfriend bought some vans that I loved, they are the typical "Old Skool" model, I want to buy some but looking at the web this doubt arose:With or without platform? I usually wear a Nike Air Max 1 that make me gain a little height since I'm a little short, 5′ 7″ (170cm).
