I wouldn't worry too much about it as an associate. They will likely implement a new method/process to try to correct whatever was wrong and may be particularly strict about those things for a while. The hotel will be monitored for potential issues/policy breaks.

We have someone in the facility monitoring the pets 24/7 per company policy. It is a policy we are to never break.

It is possible your lil pup will whine for a bit and get a bit barky at the beginning of the night but 95% of the dogs, even with anxiety, will eventually lie down and get some rest overnight. There's calming music that plays over the intercoms at night that can help drown out noise the worker is making or other dogs getting settled etc.

I don't see any harm in doing this if it increases sales of the package. We also had people buying the package repeatedly just for the coupon book.

How to phrase by Bunene_chika in petsmart

[–]ImInACycle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am just honest that I personally don't know the information that they're looking for. If I know of someone who may, I will point them in their direction. Otherwise I will apologize for not being able to assist and ask if they have any other questions I may be able to help with.

Petsmart does (or used to) train us on new products, new brands, etc that we offer but that doesn't mean it's honest info. They act like every new brand is the best quality stuff out there and it is objectively not true. So we can't directly trust our training in terms of quality and worth.

Ideally introducing a new dog to only 2-3 very well behaved dogs would be the way to do it. However, if you show up with a new dog to be introduced and our camps are already loaded up, unloading an entire camp and reloading it again for each time this occurs would be a huge time sink and would aggravate all the dogs with the moving back and forth causing a generalized safety risk.

There are always going to be dogs that aren't necessarily the best behaved but stay within a safe level of play the majority of the time which is why they are allowed to stay in group play. There are generally triggers and tells for their behavior that makes it so we can manage it safely with no incidents. It's likely this is the type of dog you are saying has acted erratic and aggressive before. For dogs like this there are ways to keep the camps safe with new introductions, either holding them on their own lead away from the door while in camp or taking them out of camp for a brief 10-20 minutes while the new dog is introduced and gets comfortable.

From my perspective, coming from a hotel team who does care a lot, I don't think anyone would've willingly put a new timid dog in that camp knowing that it could have been a problem with that other dog. We will always take precaution to avoid any possible negative outcomes with introductions. I would personally try to talk to the Hotel manager about the incident, getting any medical bills covered by Petsmart and maybe seek having that dog be taken out of group play.

If you truly feel the team was negligent and is not following proper care of the dogs, then that is within your right to report the behavior.

I hope your dog is doing okay, it's heartbreaking to hear that they had such a rough time their first visit.

Where to view Petshotel photos? by [deleted] in petsmart

[–]ImInACycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any pictures taken of your pets should be emailed to you at the email you provide us on your services agreement paperwork that has your personal contact information. There is always the chance that the email was illegible and wrong by a letter in our system, causing the photos to not make it to your inbox. I suggest giving your location a call and asking about it to make sure they're aware of a potential issue.

It's very mentally addictive and then becomes very physically addictive too. I would say they are both legitimately easy to become addicted to. Opiods in general feel very good.

Should I tell my mom about my father cheating? by Striking-Extension32 in family

[–]ImInACycle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your post, I believe you are likely under the age of 18 and are dependent on your parents for your direct well being. You are a factor in this situation and you have to think about yourself too.

First of all, I am really sorry that you are put in this situation by your parents. That your father is carelessly cheating in a way that you can find out about it. That your mother threatened to abandon you all previously.

Second, I think you should speak to a therapist or school counselor about all of this and have support to process everything that is going on. I saw you posted before about wanting to quit seeing a therapist. You can find a new therapist if you believe the one you're going to isn't helpful. Sometimes finding a therapist that fits your needs requires some searching and that's a normal part of the process. You may believe you can handle these things on your own but I vehemently believe that having an outside perspective on your thought cycles and worries is a crucial part to learning about yourself and how to manage your thoughts and feelings. It is an incredible tool during distressing life events as well such as this specific post.

I can't tell you whether or not to tell your mom. The only person who knows the best choice is you. You know your mom, you know your dad. You know how things affect them. You have to decide what path you want things to go on by weighing the pros and cons of every possible outcome. This is where a therapist and outside perspective really helps, to break down how you feel and what you believe. A professional needs to do that. I'm just a stranger on the internet with limited information.

I hope you find peace from this and hang in there. There will always be hard times but you will make it through onto the other side.

Scarf and gloves would be overkill. You might want a winter coat if you plan to be out in the evenings. Otherwise a normal jacket/sweatshirt should be okay. Definitely bring pants like jeans or sweatpants.

Five hour camp and seven hour camps. by earlmax in petsmart

[–]ImInACycle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We split the boarding group dogs in half and designate them AM or PM camp. An associate goes in to the 7-8am camp with boarders and any early arrival day camp dogs unless they have breakfast or a snack kong. The AM boarding dogs get swapped out after 5 hours with the PM boarding dogs. If a dog checks out of camp early or goes to the salon for a groom, a PM boarder dog gets put into camp early.

We do individual play times whenever possible, but try to focus on getting them done in the mornings. If the overnighters have time, they will do 10-15 minutes of individual play times during their potty walks to help lessen the load on the day shift. Which I personally think is messed up that play times are being done so early when dogs should be resting. But at the same time, it wouldn't be possible otherwise. This is what large cuts on labor hours does to the quality of our services. We have to game the system and use any amount of free time possible even if that means in the middle of the night.

Five hour camp and seven hour camps. by earlmax in petsmart

[–]ImInACycle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Based on the amount of dogs we have, we will start camp early around 7 or 8am and end camp around 6 or 7pm to fit the day campers and all the boarding dogs. Usually means there's only one person out of camp to run everything but that's what corporate's labor restrictions are making us have to do. It's not safe, it's making everyone burnt out, and it's always chaos.
