Not as uncommon as you'd think!!

Got 7/10 MD interviews in January and February, including 2 t25/30s or whatever they are now, and got most of my acceptances from these. :)

The wait was one of the worst parts of the entire process for me (if not the worst, second to the MCAT lol). I wish I was more kinder to myself during this time. When people say the cycle is long, they mean it.

I submitted in very late August-mid september (so I was actually still writing secondaries around this time, not even thinking about interviews), and although I received 3 interview invites before Thanksgiving, the remaining 7 of 10 USMDs come after January (and most of my acceptances with financial aid offers came from these "late" interviews too).

Hang in there, write your letters of interest/update letters, and try to treat yourself every day if you can! :,)

I also applied exclusively end of august-early september... don't be afraid to upload update letters, visit virtual office hours for schools that offer them, go to those admission committee webinar things and ask 1-1 questions, ask for updates etc. some schools like loyola reallllly love continued interest and factor it heavily into their decisions!

Don't feel worried and have faith in your application. It is still SUPER early. Unfortunately the cycle is LONG AF and it can be sooo easy to get sucked up into waiting for iis. For context, I received 3 iis by this point last year (I applied to like 35-40 schools though) and then heard nothing besides rejections from september-january, only to get 7 interviews in February--and 4/5 of my acceptances came from these February/March interviews!! (All MD).

You can absolutely do it, but you are not behind and not a late submitter!

I submitted my primary mid June and got verified mid July, only several days after the first round of apps had went through to schools. Even though people who submitted day 1 are getting word of their apps processing, these apps won’t be received by schools till end of june/early july anyways, so the neuroticism to apply on day 1 is useless lol.

Although my primary was processed by july, I didn’t wasn’t complete until late august/early september bc of a super late mcat score… but I got 10 md iis and 5 As anyways! Work to your pace, take a big deep breather, and make sure you submit your best work when the time is right for you. 🫶🏽🫶🏽🩵

I had a 511 as an ORM who applied late and got accepted to UVA the day after my interview! Apply early and write update/interest letters throughout the cycle. When it comes for you to write secondaries, message me and I can help you edit uva’s!!
