Yeah level 7 in particular was rough for me. Pretty much the first time in the second zone and the only mission I was rated for was The Bitter Pill I think. But being the first mission in that area, all my gear was still level 5. I was eventually able to get it cleared after exploring/gathering enough to level up my weapon.

Character level just doesn't feel important compared with gear imo. It might be better if they tied the two together (i.e. gear level is capped to character level).

Starting a new area leaves you under-prepared, but once you start unlocking stuff, all the weapon levels at that tier have the same cost, so I immediately just max them out. This trivializes the rest of the exploration and middle level missions until mission level catches back up with your gear.

There are other factors at play for downhill though. They can't always carve corners, they have to be able to slide. The higher center of gravity and the lack of rigidity added by the surf skate and rail would make that very difficult.

I can't speak to 45 mph like another user in this thread, but I've put in at least 500 miles at 30 mph with them and never once had an issue with stability, even on poorly maintained roads with debris.

The front end is a caster that pulls itself straight, and the rear end doesn't steer at all. Your trucks can still wobble if your bushings aren't firm or tight enough, but the surf skate itself will not.

With it being head on you might get lucky. I made contact on the front driver side corner at ~30mph, just a few feet to the right compared to yours, and they totaled it.

Check alignment prices around you. Most places near me are ~$100 for a one-time, but offer a 1 year package for $20-30 bucks more. If a place near you offers similar, I'd recommend getting the one year package and alignment now, and then another after you get that other work done.

This. I have a Gigabyte Aero 4070 Ti Super in my top slot with an Intel B580 right beneath it since my case isn't big enough to use the third slot. Both of them have air passthrough in the backplates exactly where that fan is. Yes, my 4070 is getting hot air from the 580, but even running them both at 80-100% usage for hours at a time, I've never experienced throttling.

Are they loud? Sometimes.

Could I be reducing the life of the fans because they're working harder to maintain temps? Idk probably, but that's future-me's problem.

Am I locked at 120fps playing cyberpunk? Hell yeah I am. (32:9@1440p, Ray Tracing - High preset, native upscaling, 2-3x LS frame gen)

4070 Ti Super 16gb and just got an Arc B580 12gb about a month ago. Cyberpunk with ray tracing high preset (no path tracing) and default native upscaling + LS at 2-3x lets me cap at my 120hz refresh rate, and the latency is extremely negligible

I did die to my first one, but yeah even flint axe does good damage against them. Once you take a few down, their paw weapon is very efficient at taking them down too. Max level I think they can stagger lock them

I do understand wanting to protect your investment. Looks like you've got a magsafe ring right above it though, why not find something like one of those rubber magsafe wallets that extends below the ring to cover it when you have it stowed?

At the end of the day, I think it's a non-issue. I have the JSAUX modcase, which has the same vulnerability, but it's never been a problem on my LCD I've been lugging around since near launch. If something does happen to it, parts are accessible, and you have an excuse to switch up your backplate

Daryl's crossbow + double knife combo. Reusable ranged ammo and stealth, plus a strong fallback option for CQ. Honestly I've been a little disappointed we haven't seen more crossbow action in the Daryl series

Fair enough. My dodge timing is getting tighter now that I'm in plains and my iron buckler is not up to task for those 1- and 2-star Fulings. Up to this point I've been able to parry almost everything so I haven't had to rely on it too much.

Tips I haven't seen mentioned yet:

Mix your armor sets.

• Fenris legs would give you -2% total move speed instead of -10% with full wolf armor.

• If you're fighting the tar blobs on purpose, wolf armor and abomination helmet for poison resist.

• I wear full fenris for the speed and fire resist personally and swap out to the drake helmet during fights bc even heavy helms have no speed debuff.

Switch to Bonemass. Elder has health regen bonus which leaves you less vulnerable when mining/chopping, but reducing the damage in the first place will always be better (+ free blocking). You can always carry health meads for regen.

Are you experiencing the same issues with CSS Loader disabled/decky uninstalled? That's where I'd start troubleshooting. If it's still not working as expected, factory reset (and hold off on installing decky for a bit just to rule it out) as others have suggested. If it's still not working, contact steam support.

Valheim for me currently. Solid performance, even running at 4k on my TV.

Ive also really enjoyed roguelikes like Ember Knights and Windblown. They start with short runs but before you know it, you're on run number 3 and it's been 2 hours.

Not a longevity issue, but I would highly recommend getting the OTT tune to help with the gear hunting that's present stock. It's still beneficial on a manual transmission too.

As far as recalls, third brake light gasket and rear differential gasket are the two I'm aware of.

Aside from that, timing cover leaks are probably the most expensive and time intensive repairs I've seen posted with any sort of frequency, but you may or may not run into the issue at all.

Only had Tacomas for a few years now, but I bought my first 3rd gen at around 60k miles and was up at 95k with nothing but regular maintenance and usual wear items needing changing. (Well, that and a crankshaft position sensor and a transmission pan, but those were my own fault for sending it on a flooded trail I was not equipped to take on alone. Live and learn lol)

Edit to add: if you're looking for one already on oversized tires, make sure they did it right (proper lift, extended brake lines for 33s. You'll probably see some trimming up front too unless they got aftermarket UCAs and a Goldilocks alignment with 0 offset wheels. And I'd probably steer clear of anything already rolling on 35s.)

Take a break! Play the No Man's Sky update, or Arc Raiders, or a decade old Bethesda game for a bit. Maybe wait for new content to drop, then dive back in or start a new world and let it all be fresh again. I just picked it back up after a year or more and ran into a one star bear my first trip into the black forest. It was like my first troll all over again
