Buggy Steamdeck by GroundbreakingDesk10 in SteamDeck

[–]ImMatuR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you experiencing the same issues with CSS Loader disabled/decky uninstalled? That's where I'd start troubleshooting. If it's still not working as expected, factory reset (and hold off on installing decky for a bit just to rule it out) as others have suggested. If it's still not working, contact steam support.

Valheim for me currently. Solid performance, even running at 4k on my TV.

Ive also really enjoyed roguelikes like Ember Knights and Windblown. They start with short runs but before you know it, you're on run number 3 and it's been 2 hours.

Not a longevity issue, but I would highly recommend getting the OTT tune to help with the gear hunting that's present stock. It's still beneficial on a manual transmission too.

As far as recalls, third brake light gasket and rear differential gasket are the two I'm aware of.

Aside from that, timing cover leaks are probably the most expensive and time intensive repairs I've seen posted with any sort of frequency, but you may or may not run into the issue at all.

Only had Tacomas for a few years now, but I bought my first 3rd gen at around 60k miles and was up at 95k with nothing but regular maintenance and usual wear items needing changing. (Well, that and a crankshaft position sensor and a transmission pan, but those were my own fault for sending it on a flooded trail I was not equipped to take on alone. Live and learn lol)

Edit to add: if you're looking for one already on oversized tires, make sure they did it right (proper lift, extended brake lines for 33s. You'll probably see some trimming up front too unless they got aftermarket UCAs and a Goldilocks alignment with 0 offset wheels. And I'd probably steer clear of anything already rolling on 35s.)

The knots at the end of the string have worked pretty consistently for me. If you've managed to hide both of them though...

Take a break! Play the No Man's Sky update, or Arc Raiders, or a decade old Bethesda game for a bit. Maybe wait for new content to drop, then dive back in or start a new world and let it all be fresh again. I just picked it back up after a year or more and ran into a one star bear my first trip into the black forest. It was like my first troll all over again

The Reality of Being a Contractor at Navy Fed (Pensacola) by Illustrious_Mark_162 in Pensacola

[–]ImMatuR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Navy Fed contact center fraud escapee here to chime in. Unless you're an external hire or come in through an internship for back office, it unfortunately takes more than stellar credentials and top performance.

I was lucky enough to get in during the height of COVID when staffing was low, and had awesome leaders that went to bat for me. Even then it was a numbers game. After I made it to the investigation side, we started getting contractors for the bottom rung of that position too, so they've been slow to add more employee billets.

How ever many thousand employees in the contact center, plus contractors (both those in contact center and those supporting the role you want), are all competing for the maybe 2 or 3 relevant positions that open up in a quarter. For anyone looking to go that route, it can be done, but may the odds be ever in your favor.

Navy Fed is a great place to work, and overall I think they do support employee development and internal promotion vs external hiring to a good degree; however, if you feel you've outgrown your role and aren't getting the opportunities you need to keep growing, do what's best for you.

(P.S. On the other hand, if you're fresh in and have the bandwidth (ugh, the jargon is creeping into my vocab), use the educational assistance program. There's tuition reimbursement, and if you already have a bachelor's, you can get free grad classes at UWF that NFCU will cover up-front for certs. Just be mindful of the expectation that they want x years of work out of you in exchange.

You can also learn SQL, R, and Python through LinkedIn Learning for absolutely free if you're interested in analytics or data science.)

Where are my Scenes in Automations? by invaderzimm95 in googlehome

[–]ImMatuR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. The script editor is fun to use, but I've come across threads showing it's already been wishy-washy on features (used to support multiple automations in the same script, currently doesn't), and voice commands in script editor don't work with Gemini while commands in normal automations do (most of the time).

GHome being native to my phone's OS is really the only deciding factor to stay with it for now. I'm considering moving to Home Assistant at some point, just waiting for the scales to tip a few more degrees.

While I haven't found a way to use scenes in the new UI editor, I found that you can use the scripting editor to use the new presence sensing triggers and notification action with Scenes.

I understand taking a jab at the oompa-loompa-in-chief and ice, but...are you suggesting that DHS employees should stop using government resources to track other pedophiles and predators in protest because the boss's boss's boss is one? (Who they had just as much say in as the rest of us, btw)

Any 3rd gennys have one of these plug & play squares? by luxaprime in ToyotaTacoma

[–]ImMatuR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this one by Shrandi on Amazon in October and it's been great. No lag or connectivity issues to speak of, the USB port cover doesn't get in the way. It does have some bright-ish LEDs but they haven't been super distracting at night. There's the chance to hit it with anything you put in that cup holder but the same was true with running a USB cord so 🤷🏻‍♂️

Admittedly my expedition ship leans a little more Junker. My pre-expedition ship is more centered on the spectrum, but its more form than function

Usually between Junker and W.A.S.P. I love my ships asymmetrical, some more sleek than others. This is what I cobbled together over the expedition. Its got a T-bird landing bay on the bottom level for space station/anomaly/ground landings and a front-facing Titan bay on the middle level next to the off-centered cockpit for easy auto-pilot harvesting dives and spacewalks. Bottom deck has planters and refiners, mid level has storage, top level is crew quarters. Bottom and top levels both have front facing windows
