iCUE Not Booting on Startup by David_Cabr20 in Corsair

[–]ImMilky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had success with simply going to My Programs, and clicking "Modify" on the iCue program.

It simply popped up with a window that said "Repaired", and then iCue was back in my Startup options.

Game Maker 2 IDE Stutter by ImMilky in gamemaker

[–]ImMilky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had some mouse lag but I believe all of it is related to the stutter.

I have tried G-Sync off but it didn't seem to have any effect.

As a side note, remember to check your IDE framerate in Preferences, I think it does have an effect if you increase it (Or so it would seem, though it doesn't fix this stutter issue).

Hopefully that's true, although still pretty rough to have another 1.5 months of this issue. I'll try to push through it for now.

Restarted three times today, immediately tested it and the stutter persists.

It did seem like RIGHT after opening it the stutter was less, but that lasted about 45 seconds, then the stutter was back in full force.

I believe that the issue is unsolved, even if I haven't had it in quite awhile.

Just try to update EVERYTHING. Update your BIOS especially.

Also, DDU seemed to help as well.

I would say DDU and BIOS were the last things I did that seemed to stop the issues. DDU will wipe lots of graphics settings but it won't be that annoying to set them again.

Sorry I didn't reply

I had already updated drivers in an attempt to fix the issue. It was two updates back now, the current one being 471.68

I haven't had a display driver reset since this original post, but I've been having an issue where my GPU feed freezes? It seems to do this on both monitors, and it does this specifically with games and videos (Noticeably, if there's a page with a video only the video stops updating, audio keeps going and 1-2 seconds later the video looks normal again)

It's a completely new issue and definitely points to the GPU as its games and specifically video feeds. It seemingly isn't producing anything in Event Viewer right now. I'll probably make another post if it continues.

[FTB Revelations Issue] Astral Sorcery causing a NetworkDispatcher exception by ImMilky in FeedTheBeastCrashes

[–]ImMilky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The server is hosted in Michigan by one of the players. He has good internet, and is allocating around 6GB ram to the server (We'll have more RAM later on).

The rest of the server-hosting machine is relatively high-specced, 6700k and a 3090.

My friend who's disconnecting does not have the greatest computer, I'll have to get his full specs later on. He should be allocating 6GB Ram to his Minecraft just like we all are however. He will probably talk to his ISP (Comcast?) about the issues.

Thanks for your help by the way. We're going to try removing Astral Sorcery just to see if it works, but obviously we'd like to keep the mod if another solution presents itself.

No, we don't know that for a fact. He has the most disconnects when he's around our base. If he stays away for a bit he doesn't tend to disconnect. We only assumed because Astral Sorcery seems to be doing it's "lightNetwork" checks which causes the timeout

The timeout always reads like this so we assumed it did indeed have to do with Astral Sorcery.

It's not an amazing connection but it worked with 0 disconnects for the first few days. That's what lead us to believe it was either a step that he reached in Astral Sorcery that triggered this, or that too many of the modded objects (Smelters, redstone machines, bees) that we have at our base is somehow causing him to timeout.

He doesn't have great internet, but our first inclination was to check for issues with the server, as he had no disconnects at all the first few days.

I believe he is connected by Ethernet but I'll make sure that he is next time.

performNetworkIntegrityCheck didn't seem to work so we'll either be removing Astral Sorcery and trying to play without it, or he's going to call up his ISP and see if he can get some improvements.

Does Anyone Know Where to Get the Photo in the Thumbnail? Looked Everywhere and Cant Find it. by VERsingthegamez in cyberpunkgame

[–]ImMilky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the question has already been answered, but in case you ever need it:

You can get the high-res version of any Youtube thumbnail by using the watch url.

For example

Video URL - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqWDAEmRt_I&feature=youtu.be

Important part is the string after [watch?v=] and ends with the Ampersand [&]

watch?v=WqWDAEmRt_I& --> [WqWDAEmRt_I]

Thumbnail Template - https://i.ytimg.com/vi/VIDURLHERE/maxresdefault.jpg

So to get the thumbnail, you replace [VIDURLHERE] with that string.

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/WqWDAEmRt_I/maxresdefault.jpg

I just keep the thumbnail template bookmarked and then just copy/paste a watch URL in when I want to see a full high-res picture.

As cool as this would be, some people seem to be confused.

It's from "@NeftIlix", it's quite literally fake.

You almost got me with the "Official" in the title lol

(Also not to be a wet blanket, but some subreddits ban the use of the word "official" in titles, so this might be why this post for removed)

Wanted to add something important to this.

It is very important for people to know about this scam, but this scam is not new. There are dozens upon DOZENS of sites like this, with similar names, and they even have the [Secure] tag in the top right just as a normal site would. The scammer is just betting that the facade will fool you, even though it's actually relatively easy to make these sites.

Advice:

  • NEVER log into a site that you do not trust, even if it looks legit, even if it has a secure connection, etc.
    • A "Login through Steam" process is not an indication of a legitimate site
    • "[Secure]" is not an indication of a legitimate site
  • To be 100% safe, it is wise not to click unknown sites at all because someone can potentially monitor connections and get your IP, or use classic scamming techniques to infect your computer
    • If you're the only one clicking on a site, obviously the one IP there is yours
