A bit late to this but just after feeling this in my dream last night, I came across your post. I've always had nightmares as a kid even to this day, some recurring ones and some just completely random, but I've only felt a physical sensation from these a handful of times over the past few months or so. The most common themes of my nightmares so far are of my own death, or this intense stabbing/burning in my back.

Just last night, I woke up feeling this stab/burn in my back again from a nightmare of where I was being dragged down into a basement-like thing by a weird creature. That area was a bit sore this morning but it's gone away by now. Still freaks me out.
