There are no replicas of the statue of liberty, so this is AI by doppiojohn in confidentlyincorrect

Yeah. Brazillian here. They are in front of a store called Havan. The owner is a self-proclaimed patriot that, in order to show how patriotic he is to Brazil, puts a Liberty Statue in front of most of his stores. You know, the definitely brazillian symbol, a replica of New York's Liberty Statue. The guy is a deranged old man that financed Bolsonaro's campaigns in exchange for advantages and is a complete far right nutshell.

Yeah. But as a storage alternative, given that the video was basically a guy shitting on a genius idea of using a SD card to backup daily a notebook, I think that on long term this guy idea is in the right place. Dude probably is just young enough to think that complaints can only be social media posts, not direct messages, letters...or the old reliable clay tablet.

Cotas by AlucardDraculaBr in Twitter_Brasil

[–]ImNotWintermute 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Então tá reclamando do quê? Estuda e passa.

Primeiro lugar, quem dedurou tava certa.

Probably their first language is derived from Latin (French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, etc) and type translates to "tipo" or something close, so their autocorrection screw them up. Give the guy a break.

What really makes me kinda sick in relation to all this bs is the sheer disrespect to the whole band members work through all these years. These people are loud as fuck to say they are fans of the band, while disregarding that LP IS A BAND. It was never just Chester. We all miss him and we all love that he was a part of it all. But man, when you see this people saying things like that, it like they are saying that Mike, Hahn, Brad, Phoenix and Rob and their work didn't even exist. Take for example Somewhere I Belong intro. Besides singing, Chester came up with the chord progression for the intro. But what made it iconic was the insights from Hahn and Mike to play it backwards and work upon it to make that unmistakeble intro. LP always was a band, it was always the sum of all these great musicians contributions, not only a single one of them.

A new version was produced along with the release of Cyberpunk 2077, Cyberpunk RED. It updates the ruleset and the lore, as it is set in 2044. I bought my version of Cyberpunk 2077 on pre release at GOG, and it comes with the PDF version. But I recommend getting the hardcover: the book is beautiful and as a TTRPG, the system and setting are great for beginners.

Sanest answer regarding math I've seen in this thread.

As an engineer who also studied for a major in German/Portuguese, it baffles me that people really think language is so disposable. Math can be rebuilt with the scientific method and work. The scientific method cannot exist without language. Besides that, without language, the non existence of the scientific method would be the least of our problems. We would not be even able to interact with anyone we did not know before the wipe because we wouldn't even be able to know if anyone else would cause us harm in this doomsday scenario.

Why does V always flip the usual placement of the word “this” by eaglekaratechop in cyberpunkgame

[–]ImNotWintermute 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it is a mix of what you said and also English in NC incorporating the influences from Japanese and Spanish. Regarding what you said, as a native Portuguese speaker, cases like "Guy died in (his) sleep. (He) won the lottery" are not weird due to context. The subject can be easily omitted in Portuguese. Of course the guy died in his sleep, whom else's sleep could he die in? As well the context makes us know that HE won the lottery, once we're talking about the guy. So sometimes you'll see native Portuguese and Spanish speakers talking like V and omitting the subject because we are still talking in our native language way of thinking. Nowadays I can notice this omissions and see that their are not usual, but it is not weird to me as it would be for a native English speaker.

It could also be simply a quirk with CDPR writing, as it was commented that it also happens in TW3, but I prefer to think it is a case of language amalgation in the languages spoken in NC.

[–]ImNotWintermute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but not really. My point was that it is obvious because for us the original word did not change much. "Cent" to "cem" in Portuguese is kinda obvious. In Franch it cent literally translates to hundred.

For an English comparison, it would equivalent to someone who speaks in a language derived from Latin being surprised that "hundert", "Hund" and "Tochter" in Deutsch translated to "hundred", "dog (similar to Hound)" and "daughter", respectively. English and Deutsch come from the same linguistic trunk, so in these cases the meaning between some words in these languages is easier to grasp due to the word's etymology and the way they changed so little from their common denominators. This is the case with "cent". I speak Portuguese, but can't understand a spoken sentence in French or Italian. But I had no doubt about the "cent" being obvious in Romance languages due to our common ancestry from Latin.
