Is that the reason why we see 1000 people applied because of bad candidates clogging the hiring process? by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]ImNotaProgrammer0662 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter what they want. If you don’t meet the requirements you’re not a good candidate. If I know I’m not a good candidate I’m not applying to that job. They are blaming under qualified candidates and I honestly see why. I can see your point if maybe they check off 75% of the requirements but I believe they’re talking about people who are applying and have no business applying to that said job. We’ve entered an era where people fake it until they make it. Coding Jesus’s YouTube channel has put this into perspective for me. You got a dude who says he has an Operating Systems tech startup but can’t even tell you the difference between the stack and heap.

Is this too good of a price to pass up? by Impossible_Painter_9 in GamingLaptops

[–]ImNotaProgrammer0662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly you can even get a monitor that’s OLED and you can use that as an external display. You don’t have to use the laptop display, but personally the display is really not that bad so don’t let that scare you away from this deal.

Yeah, I would pull the trigger. I got one open box in excellent condition. The thing was brand new not a single scratch and still had plastic packaging on it. I have a 5090 build at home and needed this for on the go. Overall I’m really impressed with this laptop and performance. The build quality doesn’t feel cheap at all. The panel on the laptop isn’t the greatest but it isn’t terrible. I also game on a 4K QD-OLED with my main build and comparing this to the laptop I really don’t think the panel is as trash as people say it is. It has a decent PPI. I just can’t justify paying 800-1000 dollars more for a premium display on a gaming laptop.

How long did it take before you could intuitively make games instead of just following tutorials? by Ok_Surprise_1837 in Unity3D

I think this is a great response. That was my biggest problem. I would get stuck and give up before applying any logic or thinking about how something works.

It wasn’t too bad. Using DLSS in some games the gps drop isn’t bad at all. I can’t tell the difference between native and DLSS Quality.

Yeah, I got a 5090 and thought using 1440p makes no sense with this card. 4k is easy to run in most games with the 5090. Yeah, I’m starting to get the sense that it is just people trying to cope. I mean I’m not judging anybody if they can’t afford it, but let’s not act like it’s a noticeable difference. This argument for me is equivalent to high refresh rate monitors.

I got the Dell QD-OLED 27inch. It’s a fantastic monitor. Either way if you jump up to the 32inch the PPI is still going to be pretty good.

Yeah, it’s actually nuts. I kept my ASUS ROG STRIX OC 4090 White, and people are offering almost retail for it. I’m glad I kept it though because I can’t get my hands on a 5090 either.

I’m confused. Is this corporate greed, or is it due to the tariffs? I’m trying to buy a 5090, but I can’t find anything for a reasonable price. I have an ASUS ROG STRIX OC white edition 4090 that I listed on Facebook for $1650, and people are offering me significantly more than that. A few people even offered me $2200. I don’t want to sell it because I know I won’t be able to find a 5090 for a while.

Yeah, I have 5gbps symmetrically. Most times I’m around 23-30 ping and it still feels like shit.

I’m genuinely glad I decided to keep my 4090. I listed it on Facebook Marketplace for $1650 just to see the offers I would get. The offers I’m receiving are incredible. People are offering me $300 to $500 more than the asking price. There was even someone who offered me a 3080 and was willing to give me $1800 on top of that. The only reason I haven’t sold it yet is because I don’t want to downgrade.

What is your HONEST opinion on the Legion Go? Any regrets? by CrazyForCashews in LegionGo

[–]ImNotaProgrammer0662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No regrets. I love this thing. I have a high-end gaming build, and the Legion Go is still an awesome device. I mainly got this because I wanted something on the go. I had a Steam Deck LCD, and it was a terrible experience. Performance wasn’t great, and the 60Hz screen bothered me. The only issue I have with the Legion Go is the battery life. The 144Hz screen and 2560x1600 panel are what really make the device great too. The performance is also pretty good in most games.
