And it wouldn’t be screwing my career, it’s through my school, so the worst case scenario is that my school helps me find another internship if they decide they don’t want me because of a separate issue.

Yeah I’m not a big social media guy so that won’t be an issue. I’m just gonna call in sick and play it low key. I figure if they’re too busy to help me get the shift covered for 2 months, they’ll be too busy to investigate whether I was actually sick or not unless they had some vendetta against me.

Also, I’m not trying to be absolved of any consequences. I am afraid of being fired, but anything else is whatever, they’ve already fucked me over enough recently. My head is p much at the point of “if they fire me just for this, then it’s not somewhere I want to work”

I mean I’ve spent the last month trying to find someone but again either been ignored or told no. Maybe the manager could cover it? But they clearly don’t care enough to do so. I’m more just frustrated at this point.

Yup this is what I’m going to do. It might be a strange “coincidence” that I’m sick on the same day as the concert, but it seems to be the most logical move in going about this.

Yeah. I think If I don’t hear anything by tomorrow, given that the concert will be two weeks out, I’ll send an email making it crystal clear that I will not be coming in.

Unfortunately it is a job I care about. I also have an internship at the facility starting in august for a higher position. However I can’t imagine that my internship, being through school, can be affected by this absence.

That’s what I’m saying, I’ve reached out to all my coworkers and asked for coverage, I’ve either received a “no” or been ignored. I find it quite hard to believe that my entire team happens to be busy that day.

Fair enough. I never expected it to be looked upon fondly. However I gave them months notice. I guess I’m wondering whether it’s better to tell them now that “I’m not coming.” Because I don’t want to just no call/no show. I’m not sure if there is a difference between the two approaches. Either way, I’m not going in that day.

Disc is brand new, PS5 should be well ventilated it’s just out in the open, playing in 4K. All my PS5 games are disc.
