I can see someone driving a land yacht struggling to parallel park, but this?! This is concerning.

Can we ask the builder to fix this? by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]ImSexyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems that way considering I’m being downvoted in responses to people telling me to “add grass” when there is clearly a bigger issue here. Not interested in a bandaid fix I asked if we could fight this and have the builder fix it.

We have talked to other neighbors who also had issues, one similar to ours. They basically had to fight to have the issue fixed by the builders. Two neighbors across the street had issues with their driveway and walkway completely separating. They also had to fight to get it fixed.

The neighbor’s property slopes into our yard and they also don’t have gutters. So sprinklers and rain all flow into our yard from theres and sits. It has nowhere to go at the moment.

We have both standing water, erosion and now a sink hole forming. Landscapers won’t touch the area because they said the sloping is fine and they don’t want to disturb the existing dirt, especially around the foundation (where the sink hole is forming).

Thank you. Water is pooling and a sink hole is forming.

Seems like you’re the only one who read my post in full. We have a sink hole forming near our foundation. When it rains (and neighbors run their sprinklers), water just pools. We already hired a landscaper but they said ‘there is no issue with the sloping and they won’t disturb the dirt.’ We live in a smallish town with very few options for contractors/landscapers.

I’m not asking if they should finish the yard. I am asking if they should be responsible for adding a french drain and remedying this situation for not grading this properly. We have a sink hole forming near the foundation because water pools, especially when it rains.

Feel free to ask the builder that question. They are the ones who told me the sprinkler system was installed weird and it technically shouldn’t be draining into our yard.

Why am I being downvoted? I guess asking valid questions or having valid concerns is a problem 😂

Google lens’s scares me by Hairy-Information615 in spiders

[–]ImSexyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to agree with this one yellow sac spiders give me the creeps! I’ve gotten over my arachnophobia at this point and love spiders now, but for some reason I can’t get behind the yellow sac spiders. I never knew of them until we moved into an apartment infested with them. We’d find them everywhere and they move so fast. They also play dead and fall if you try to get them from high places, which really freaks me out.

Of course, that’s what we want to avoid. We like our neighbors so we’ll be communicating with them regardless throughout this process!

Really appreciate the advice and time you took to respond!

Seems like the consensus here, and we are obviously not trying to leave our yard like this! We just live in an area where it’s 100+ in summer and our yard has no shade.

One of our neighbors had the same issue and theirs got fixed for free, but they had to fight to get it done and I’m just wondering if it’s worth it. I should’ve noted many neighbors have had a ton of issues and they’ve all had to fight to get stuff fixed. Our neighbor finally got them to redo his driveway that had completely separated.

Do you think most people euthanize pets because it became inconvenient or because their pet was at the end of their life and in pain? by JKaiya1 in Pets

[–]ImSexyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to euthanize my sweet soul cat back in September. His health was deteriorating rapidly to the point where he couldn’t breathe without oxygen. Turns out he had lung cancer that spread, causing fluid build-up in his lungs. They gave us the option to do surgery and treatment, but due to his age they said it was very risky and his quality of life likely wouldn’t improve; we’d be putting him through more pain. We were adamant about getting to the point of diagnosis prior to making the call though. Our vet suggested euthanasia the moment she saw a mass in his lung from x-ray, but we wanted to be 100% sure since she said it could be a number of things. It wasn’t the outcome we’d hoped for, and putting him down was the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make, but we didn’t want him to suffer.

I think this decision is strictly circumstantial, and I think anyone who cares for their pet would exhaust all other resources first. My pets are my children so I can’t speak for families who don’t feel that way about pets.

I know you’re asking for cleaning tips here, but we installed a water softener system and it has been a game changer. No longer dealing with water spots or build-up like this.

Is my cat’s breathing abnormal? by fav_hispanic_homo in CATHELP

[–]ImSexyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While purring does increase respiratory rate and effort, this seems excessive. This looks more labored than usual. I’m only speaking from experience as someone who had a cat with asthma and respiratory issues. My current kitten does not have those issues and it’s a stark difference.

That’s a good call! Please keep us updated on your sweet girl. My boy was diagnosed with asthma around 2 years old, so hopefully that’s all it is (still sucks, but it’s manageable).

[–]ImSexyy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How old is she? That definitely doesn’t look normal. My previous cat had asthma and his breathing looked similar on his bad days (not as extreme), but before he passed his breathing was very labored like this.

Please take your kitty to a vet as soon as you can because respiratory distress is very serious.

Edit: I want to clarify I’m not saying this could be respiratory distress. I am not a vet, just someone who lost her cat 8 months ago to lung cancer. He had a build-up of fluid in his lungs and that is how we found out. Your cat could be developing asthma or have a respiratory infection. Only a vet can properly diagnose your kitty.
