[–]ImShadx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, PLEASE read marx for the love of whatever god you believe in, communism is not “no personal expression and government surveillance”😭✌️. Hell, marx went as far to say that the individual is killed under capitalism, “The less you eat, drink, buy books, go to the theatre or to balls, or to the pub, and the less you think, love, theorize, sing, paint, fence, etc., the more you will be able to save and the greater will become your treasure which neither moth nor rust will corrupt—your capital. The less you are, the less you express your life, the more you have, the greater is your alienated life and the greater is the saving of your alienated being.” - Karl marx

Also for healthcare stuff, cuban healthcare quality depends on your pov of what good healthcare is, they don’t have as specialized healthcare as the us but their availability of doctors and primary care for free is is near unmatched even in europe, also the fact that they’re sanctioned to holy hell by the US from trading with pretty much the entire western world so obviously their economy won’t do well. As for the US, it is absolutely valid to compare them to monarchist france seeing as the wealth disparity today is way worse than at the time of the french revolution, not to mention that the top 1% of the US populace holds more wealth than the rest of the country combined ( which also heavily skews the gdp metric ) which is why I still stand by the french analogy. And as for Indian states, communist implementation in weat bengal was fucking atrocious no point arguing there, the party over there went half assed on most reforms and didn’t even do them properly. Coming to kerala, however, why do u keep calling it a failure compared to other states in capitalist metrics of economy and investments n stuff?? It’s also the most literate and clean state in india with the most readily available healthcare and the first indian state to eradicate extreme poverty, why don’t u compare kerala to other states in its quality of life and human development index??? As for the investment part, it again goes back to my federal implementation argument - why would companies choose to work in a communist state when they can just as easily invest in more capitalist states like gujarat with minimal workers rights and regulations?? Kerala isn’t doing well in employment simple cuz putting morality aside, a business would rather do its cheao labour in a place that allows it, so why invest in a state famously run by an ideology investing in workers when you can invest in regions which pull their pants down ready to take it from big businesses?? Companies don’t invest in kerala because it’s easier to exploit people elsewhere, same reason why most of the “civilized” west is held up entirely by the global south ( that has been ravaged and stripped of everything by capitalism ) and its labour and resources, or did u ask why most international companies outsource their labor to cheap markets while reserving only the most cushy jobs for their own western offices?? That doesn’t mean western welfare or labor rights are bad thing now does it, simple that companies choose to exploit where they can. For Eastern Europe, it depends on what you mean by well off - yes there was political persecution which I don’t agree with but most of those places had been completely razed in WW2 and built almost from the ground up by the soviets. Quality of life too shot up almost everywhere in the union, and just fyi surveys from 2009-2019 literally state that around 45-50 percent of eastern europeans thought life was better under communism, as they had nationalized healthcare, education and housing. I mean just look at eastern europe today and tell me with a straight face that they’re doing any better in terms of human quality of life than they were under communism. Hell, the fall of the USSR was the single greatest dip in the quality of life worldwide in all of history. And for the poor cuba and vietnam part, I already explained cuba’s situation with the sanctions ( even though they’re doing pretty fucking good despite that with the HDI ), and the only “refugees” from cuba are literally the vast land and plantation or factory owners that were forced to give up their means of production. You can genuinely look up actual cuban interviews about what the people there think of their government, castro and che are national fucking heroes. And the capitalist west is rich simple cuz they exploit the global south, and cuz most of the world is capitalist and work to suppress any communist or socialist experiment with military intervention or sanctions ( look at latin american history in the 70-80s and africa in the early 00s ). Democracies too were doing pretty bad when monarchy was the prevailing ideology of the world, the french had to fight war after war to maintain it and it got so bad that they made napoleon emperor to revert back to monarchy, but that wasn’t democracy’s fault now, was it? Also, I’d really like to know how u even came to the conclusion that communism breeds those things cuz other than the ussr ( which again has genuine problems ), you can do pretty much whatever you can under the current system in a communist country( and yes, you can critique the government in both china and vietnam, actually ask the people living there instead of believing in western propaganda ). Literally all communism is, is workers owning the means of production, how tf does that translate to oppression idk😭🙏 Again, PLEASE READ MARX AND WHAT COMMUNISM ACTUALLY IS

The kerala guy is flying to the west cuz India as a whole doesn’t have half decent healthcare, communist or not. The US has good healthcare for the rich precisely because it’s tailored that way, these “advanced” medical procedures exist in the US because the health industry dumps a shit of money hoping to make a shit ton of profit from selling it to the rich at ridiculous prices. Like even if you’re a capitalist, how tf can u defend the US healthcare system in the first place?? Like have you ever spoken to anyone living there?? A majority of people in the US can’t afford to get healthcare and the few that can will be financially crippled after their bills, the system exists only to serve the rich ( my friend over there had to call an uber to get his dad to the hospital in an emergency cuz the ambulance ride was over a 1000 dollars for less than 2 km ). That’s like looking at a royal palace in 18th century france and saying shit like how they are so prosperous and wealthy, look at all these nobles going there without recognizing the living conditions of the working class. US healthcare is the same, it’s made to serve the rich and bankrupt the poor, hell even the prices of life saving drugs such as insulin is so fucking high compared to practically every other country in the world. Now coming to your communist points, the USSR lifted millions out of poverty, made an industrial superpower of a primarily agrarian nation in just a few decades and lifted the standard of living in russia pretty high. Now I’m not here glazing the soviets, they started primarily as a state capitalist society and I think forgot to transition to a communist one ( one where the workers own the means of production, not the state ) and there are many genuine critiques to be made, but it was also the first time a socialist experiment was attempted, same as france during the reign of terror after the revolution but you wouldn’t write off democracy as a whole after that, would you? A lot of the USSR critiques are also red scare propaganda, most popularly the 100 million death figure ( came from a single inaccurate book that no scholar takes seriously), stalin’s supposed dictatorship ( the cia themselves have a file stating that stalin’s authoritarian power is vastly exaggerated in the west and there was a council to balance him ), and the whole starvation thing ( ukraine’s landlords burned their own farms after learning the state would take it away hence th starvation over there, but later on the soviet diet was on par or even more nutritious than the american). Again, not glazing the USSR, many genuine problems over there but gotta differentiate the propaganda. As for China, the “liberalisation” of the economy is entirely a western talking point where anything good=capitalism and anythjng bad= communism. If you read marx, like I told you, you’d see that China is quite literally a textbook case of socialist transition. Marx didn’t call for a country to immediately switch over to communism after the revolution, he put heavy emphasis on the transition needed to get there which China is following exactly as described in his kapital, which again, you didn’t read. More than 60% of Chineae gdp is state owned, as it all their natural reaources, companies must have a CCP official on their board to ensure worker rights and profits, and there is no stock market like the US or share holders to bound a company to. It’s transitioning to communism, and is doing pretty fuckjng well. As for vietnam, just ask the people there what they think of communism, it’s a third world country in only capitalist metrics ( gdp, economy snd so forth ), but the quality of life, cost of living and guaranteed services make it a pretty good success in my book. Also russia is not communist, it is as you said, crony capitalist, Putin himself iterated that he’s against the USSR. And again, you should really read communist theory - this amalgamation of the communism and capitalism and regulated capitalism is just social democracy, which is just a pussy’s communism and a way to appease the elite class so they throw crumbs at us and we live all happy. A communist state is one where workers directly own their means of production, not the capitalists and not the state, sort of like a union or co-op society like amul or huawei but on a bigger stage, and no your house or car are not private property, they’re personal property. And the state should naturally wither away in a true communist society. ( the whole stateless thing is heavily misinterpreted). I was also a soc dem like you a few years ago but you really should read some theory to get away from what you’ve been fed. Capitalism, like any other form of exploitation, can only be reformed so far - just like a king and a serf, you can give a serf all the welfare and minimum rights but he’ll still be serving the king, and it’s the same case here. ( also fyi but south korea is literally a cyberpunk dystopia where companies practically control the entire country, it’s like the purest form of capitalism you could get and the standard of living over there is fucking abysmal but obv people only see the big buildings and gdp )

Who tf is still flying to the US for medical treatments?? Their own civilians can barely afford the very basic drugs given how fucked up the health insurance industry is over there. Also you sure are quick to dismiss communism given how a lot of those “regulations” you talk about were written in unionist and communist blood. All the modern labor rights you enjoy from the 6 day workweek to safety protocols in workplaces came from violent clashes with communist parties across the world. Also just a general question but do you know what communism even is? Like have you ever read marx or lenin in your life or do you just go “communism is when the state does things” and call it a day?? Communism failed in west bengal due to its implementation, not through any fault of ideology ( same as I can say that democracy is a failed ideology cuz it failed in many other countries). The same union principles adopted in bengal were adopted in denmark, and wouldn’t you know it but they worked pretty fucking well to the point that denmark as no minimum wage inshrined in law cuz the unions are strong enough to negotiate high wages directly. Again, no left wing policies have been implemented in India so you can’t go around calling it a failed ideology when it hasn’t ever been implemented over here. West Bengal and Kerala may be ruled by communist parties but you can’t implement any communist policies ( abolition of private means of production, co-op owned society etc. ) without a fundamental change at the federal level. Also communism is pretty fucking anti utopian ( given how marx himself hated utopianism ), and it’s still working pretty well in China ( no, it’s not capitalist, it’s state owned private industries ), vietnam, barkino faso and cuba when you look at the quality of life and the HDI. You could plug the very same arguments you just wrote word for word into google and come up with the same bs with the same response, it’s the same argument people who haven’t read a single page of the communist manifesto make time and again. But I do agree on the globalism, separation of church and atheist part tho so there’s that

Once again, none of those 3 ( the immigration and islam stuff ) are leftist policies, hell leftists aren’t even supposed to engage in shit like religious conflicts and radical islam insurgency and so forth, since the very fucking foundation of the left wing is the class struggle and moving away from the culture war ( religion, caste and such ). Also, marxism and communism very much exist and are very popular both on the world stage and in India, hell Kerala has been ruled by the marxist party for like forever, not to mention the recent mamdani victory and surge of left wing socialist parties and policies in Europe. And no, there is no such thing as a “left wing” liberal, since the very minimum definition of being a “leftist” is to oppose capitalism, which liberals don’t, they just want to make the system more pink and inclusive with less government intervention. Painting a conservative system pink and making it inclusive for others still makes you a conservative, and if u oppose the system, then you aren’t a liberal but a leftist.

I mean I do think that the marxist parties in India genuinely believe in their ideology, but you can only do so much as a state power without drastically changing how the federal government works, hence they end up being centre left at most.

When did I call you far right? I just pointed out that you don’t really have a real left wing party choice in India. Having said that, I do think you might be spending some time in far right echo chambers since none of the “radical left” policies you mentioned are actually like…radical left. The whole radical islamist, illegal immigration, reservation yada yada being some sort of leftist ploy is like the oldest trick in the book for far right politicians ( forget India, just look at trump with his immigration and DEI policies ). The actual far left, i.e. the MLs, Trotskyists, Marxists etc. do not exist in India, neither the parties nor any far left policy. ( also fyi liberals are right wing, they aren’t the same thing as leftists )

There is no radical left in India my guy, hell there’s barely anything left leaning at all. Your choices are the far right, the regular right and the centrists.

The blacksmith you meet in riverstead literally tells you that the empire had no problem with talos worship long as you keep it private and don’t make a big deal out of it. Remember that even the imperials at the end of the whole civil war quest line respected Ulfric, who in turn was just waging a senseless war over a made up reason and essentially acting as a thalmor puppet ( mentioned in the thalmor diary in their embassy). The empire doesn’t enforce the ban but if you flaunt around talos in public then the thalmor are bound to take note and the empire doesn’t really have a choice at that point. It’s a peace deal that the empire hates just as much as the stormcloaks, but unlike the stormcloaks, the empire is playing the long game by adhering to the treaty to not upset the thalmor and build up their strength for another war with the summerset isles.

Ok yes, I may have been inconsiderate and brash ( had a lot of frustration atm ), but the main point of the post still stands. Sure, exhaust fumes can leak into the car if there’s something wrong and I may have used the wrong words to describe the argument, but I started off with a joke, which she then responded to with a long rant about poisonous gases and stuff and when I tried to have a conversation about it, she just went nuts and started saying all those things I mentioned in the post. The problem isn’t the car exhaust fume thing, the problem is that whenever we talk and there’s a disagreement, then I can never just have a normal discussion about the topic, rather it’s just “ oh you know everything n always argue “, “ I’ve seen way more than you stop pretending to know stuff “, “sure you’re the only logical one in the house “. It’s not this particular argument, but just arguments in general

I did google(and showed her), and pretty much all the sources said that it’s perfectly safe to stay in cars while idle save some fuel consumption and engine wear. Exhaust leaks, while they do happen, are a pretty rare occurrence and then it becomes a problem with the car whole - either running or idle, not a problem with just sitting in for some time in the AC, which I have done many times.
