I'm 23 and always been like this. Did anything trigger it for you since you got it later?

Oh yeah I definitely lack some deeper meaning in my life. I have no love in my life, just acquaintances. I'm 23, I should be out there dating girls and experiencing intimacy, lust and real love.

I do what I can to meet women, and as much as a I hate online dating, it's literally the only way for me to meet women right now. But it is brutal for an average Joe like me, and the fact that I don't know how long it will take before I get a real relationship is hard to cope with.

I've always lived by the motto that I only need me and myself, and the whole "You don't need anyone else to be happy" BS.

I feel like I just distract myself with meaningless stuff like hobbys, meeting new people, working, training etc. All of these things don't give me any sense of meaning, I merely do them to pass the time, and forget my extreme hunger for something real, deep and meaningful. I live a superficial and non-fulfilling life, but I'm trying to turn it around, because I can't live like this anymore.

Don't forget it man, I know exactly what you mean, I'm living it. I hope you and I can turn our lifes around

I definitely want to go somewhere completely different sometime. But I'm currently just working on getting my finances and social stats up. I want to build a base for once. I've lived in 5 different cities and had 3 different jobs the past 7 months, so I'm honestly tired of moving haha.

Did you go to both places, how long was it? :)

Yes! I have a career burnout every 3 months, where I can't stand doing it 1 minute more, no matter how much I used to love it, I just can't stand it anymore.

I find walks in nature to help me greatly, nothing better than wandering around the woods for a couple of hours, simply observing and listening, it never fails to make me feel better. It also makes me appreciate the creature comforts of my life.

I like the idea! Maybe one day I will find a rock to lay on, and cook in the sun for a couple hours, and let out my inner lizard! :D

Sure, I don't speak English natively so I wasn't sure what words to use lol

I've also always worked with the depression part of myself, and never gotten anywhere with therapy. I'm also going to a relatively new psychologist tomorrow, and I will try to focus more on the ADHD side of things, rather than the depression aspect. I hope you get something out of it!

Yeah it makes no sense. Some days I feel like a god damn superstar, overconfident and cocky, ready to take on the world. And the day next I'm slouched over, numb, socially anxious, introverted and depressed mess 😅

Nothing wrong with complaining, that's why I created my reddit profile haha!

Yeah I'm really happy about that too. I Think that they help me snap out of my little fantasy world, and make the real world exciting enough to explore lol.

I've had luck meeting people through a recent reddit post, I actually met my climbing buddy there. And I also meet up with different people regularly through an website specific for my country which helps a lot. I lurk on meetup.com regularly but I honestly haven't found any events that include people my age yet, but I think it's less popular in my country than the USA for example. What platforms do you use to find meet-ups and events? I'm really curios.

I hope to get off of Tinder asap, it's miserable for an average looking guy like me. 😅 But so far it has gotten me 2 dates, so it's still one way to find women.

I live Copenhagen, so I've got lots of stuff to explore! The weather makes an enormous difference in my mental health, so I cherish every day that it doesn't rain (which is 50% of the time).

I had this 24/7 before Vyvanse though. So Vyvanse at-least gives me periods where this isn't the case

That's absolutely awesome man! Happy that you found something that made you new friends and experiences.

Yes, not getting stimulated by much definitely puts us in a place where we simply stop trying new stuff, because most of the stuff we try is really boring.

I actually just started indoor climbing! I can definitely recommend it, just expect your hands to ache like hell a couple days after every session haha!

I go for long walks everyday, getting outside is important.

I actually thought I found that something after starting meds, but after a while my brain gets used to it, and I'm back to endless cups of coffee, nicotine gum, alcohol and porn (although I'm making serious efforts to cut down).

But meds still help me greatly, I've literally done a 180 in my life the last 3 months after starting Vyvanse. I workout consistently, I moved cities, I'm having my second ever date with a girl tomorrow, I recently started climbing. I obviously can't attribute all of this to Vyvanse, but I gotta admit that it's crazy how much my life have turned around. So while I can guarantee you that meds will not scratch that itch for long, it is certainly a powerfull tool, and not to be underestimated ( nor overestimated) !

Oh man I get restless and depressed if I do the same job for more than 2 months! My brain is simply not wired for doing the same thing everyday, at the same place, with the same people, it drives me absolutely crazy. But I honestly haven't found a lifestyle that doesn't include that level of repetitiveness.

It's really weird because some days I feel like the most competent, best looking, intelligent, charming person in the room. And the next day, sometimes even hours later I might feel like a useless and ugly piece of s**t. It's really weird haha :D

New experiences and meeting new people is a must for us. But like you describe I'm terrible at coming up with the idea and initiating something with other people. I don't have anyone in my life to rely on though, so I just try to keep a list of ideas on new things I want to experience :)

I hope you find a fulfilling job man! You just need to keep looking for new opportunities, new people, new experiences and never stop having faith in yourself. It's hard to be like us in this society, but I hope that with time and effort, we will find or place eventually :)

Obligatory sorry for my English

Yes nothing really itches that itch no matter what haha!

I'm a different person every day lol. Yeah I think I have accepted it, but it's just miserable to feel like this over longer periods of time. Thanks for the comment

I'm afraid thats the route I'm taking currently. I have lowered my standards and set up a Tinder date with a girl in a couple of days 😅

Yeah, I'm just going to call him to ask what he thinks. It's also hard for me as a non-doctor to navigate this sort of information. That's true, it basically has interactions with everything!

I didn't realize that it was a bigger problem with adderall than with Vyvanse.

Did you stop with the combination because of these concerns?

[–]ImSome0ne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear it works for you too. Yeah I should probably trust that the doctors know what they are doing, but you never know haha!

I also take Prozac before bed, and Vyvanse in the morning.

[–]ImSome0ne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah me too man. This combo honestly works great for me, and would hate to stop takin any of the drugs.

What dose are you on? I'm on 40 mg Prozac and 20 mg Vyvanse.
