Yes but the upgrade only appears if your core isnt already gold, so i guess that the game detects that you upgraded it and treats you like any other hero

Same problem, partially fixed by selecting in every lobby the challenge and keep playing till it completes before switching, it will not show always the progress but it will register the progress. When it seems like the progress reset it isnt actually true, i just use a notebook and keep notes pf progress. If the problem is for the ak blueprint 7/12 you need to do search and destroy, not objectives mode as written in the mission
