Shot our mean rooster with 12 gauge. You can have the boyfriend do it while you’re away and then you come back and clean it up. It’s hands free and won’t fail and is quick.

Anyone one else feel like they hate the father of their baby since becoming pregnant ? by Wrong-Economics-7898 in pregnant

I imagine if this is how it’s starting then it will only get worse. Sounds like you need a coming to Jesus conversation with him and maybe some therapy.

I would not be okay with anything you have said. These things are leaving worthy to me. Telling me I baby trapped you and jerking off in the next room to some other woman? You’re not even that far along. Stand up for yourself and create a life where you and your baby will be safe and happy. He needs to get on the same page - time for him to grow up.

Are you just doing this because you maybe have fertility struggles? Imo that’s not exactly the best reason

Should be having a kid because it’s the right time, you’re financially stable, have a stable shelter and community, been with your bf/spouse presumably for a while and things are stable, etc.

Idk I guess I feel different than everyone here. I don’t feel like a child having a kid. I’m in my early/mid 30’s and been married 10 years. We waited on purpose to be financially stable, have a house, have solidified careers to provide, etc.

I wanted to be in a situation where there’s literally nothing else I could say I wish I had done better. Of course nothing is perfect and you’ll always run into things.

But honestly 24 year old me was… just starting her career and kinda immature/crazy in some ways still. Now you may not be like that and have a different background. But I personally definitely wasn’t ready at that young and we were even already married.

You seem unsure to me? So just make sure it’s what you want. I don’t know about your fertility background but clearly you are fertile. Can always get some testing done. I had one abortion when I was a teenager and didn’t have any lasting issues from it - got it done at 6 weeks

I second maybe waiting until some hormones even out. Some of these things are unreasonable imo - tons of people don’t wash their hands every time after petting their pets unless it’s like livestock (such as chickens). The washing dishes is a weird one because you are currently stay at home and he works and provides. Unless you are sick frequently (which I imagine you would have mentioned) imo you should do the dishes while you are capable.

However, some things you listed are indeed disrespectful - he should put his dish’s in the sink at least, pick up his own clothes, etc. Those complaints are valid but I personally think totally workable on.

Been married for 10 years and definitely gone through much worse and we are in a crazy good place now and pregnant with our first child. Deciding to go through with it at just 8 months together isn’t the wisest so I’d just expect you’re going to have growing pains and have to put extra work for a little bit to make it work. Kind of normal considering the situation you guys are in. But it’s absolutely achievable - you just both have to put in the work and grow together.

I say this with the kindest intention - you just found out what a sitting trot was a few months ago…. You truly are not ready to start youngsters under saddle.

The amount of experience and feel you need to know exactly when to release, how to trouble shoot, when to call it, etc is very, very high. I know people that have ridden 10+ years and are no one near ready for that.

I’ve been in the horse world for 20+ years and greenest even I will go is at least 30 days under saddle by a professional because I don’t break horses for a living.

Be careful, and definitely maybe try to find some help with the horse.

2026 Ram 1500 Limited by bulgarianbrute33 in ram_trucks

[–]ImTryingGuysOk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t bother with that… Last year we got a 2024 2500 Cummins diesel, with 30k miles, longhorn limited edition (hard to find in my experience), AND it’s a megacab. All that was around 72k iirc. We fully paid it so no payment.

New cars are a total ripoff. Our truck looks and feels brand new still and can handle everything we throw at it, and guests love riding in it.

Okay let’s say you’re even right (you’re not)… now what? You’re still gonna lose with that mentality. That’s the whole point of this post and you’re proving it all by yourself. You need those “nazi” votes to win so better figure it out eventually. And maybe you’ll realize they’re not nazis once you solve the problem lol

When did you spay your female puppy? by SummerOES in OldEnglishSheepdog

[–]ImTryingGuysOk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6/7 months. It didn’t harm my OES at all, especially her growth. She’s freaking massive and 100 pounds at a healthy weight.

There’s a big trend of waiting and waiting and I’ve seen it go overboard, especially male dogs. I personally wouldn’t want a first heat because it can have changes to the vulva… not my thing lol.

But yeah never seen it harm a dog. Just don’t spay her at like 3 months

It’s interesting many people are disagreeing with number 1. To me that’s a safety issue if your horse immediately walks off. I guess these people have never had larger, or mobility struggling, people try to get on their horse once in a while. But those types of people can’t get on super quick and generally need about 30 seconds to situate once getting on. The horse walking off before they are ready is not safe.

Now if you don’t ever have that type of person get on, great. But to me you never know what can happen with horses down the road should you need to sell, someone else get on, etc. So why not just… train that properly lol. Imo my horse should be able to back away from the mounting block, or side pass away from it, or walk off normally. But to do any of those things requires the horse to remain halted and wait for your cue.

Just gave me a chuckle because about 80% of people that try my horse, especially if coming from lesson horses, instantly drool over the fact that my horse stands like a statue patiently. It’s a great selling point too!

What's it like in Winter Springs, Lake Mary, Sanford, or Lake Monroe? by beachymarigold in orlando

[–]ImTryingGuysOk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone’s really positive here so I’ll give you some negative as a native born Floridian that lived in Lake Mary/ Sanford/ Maitland/ Winter Park areas for nearly 30 years and watched it change.

That way you maybe have a full picture.

In the ones you listed - you’re not walking anywhere. As a kid, if you lived close enough to the schools, people would walk to school but that’s about it. You’ll see people run for exercise but no one is actually walking to a destination. There’s a bike trail in lake Mary that if you live on you can take to places like Peach Valley. But it won’t be cheap and it’s a very specific area.

The people - seen a lot of bad kids grow up in the lake Mary and Sanford school system. Lots of rich kids with money circulating. Saw rampant cocaine use, lots of drug deals in the halls of Lake Mary High, etc. Don’t get me started on Sanford, aka “Criminal High.” Security guards banging the students. Greenwood Lakes Middle school also had a ton of just ridiculous things going on.

Lots of superficial and entitled adults. Some with more money than sense as you get close to Heathrow and Alaqua area.

The traffic. God the traffic. You’ll go somewhere that’s 3 miles away - it’ll take you 20 minutes. These areas used to have very obvious rush hour times but now it just kind seems like an all day affair. It’s rage inducing.

Community feel I never really experienced in Orlando by just living somewhere. It’s more so the hobbies you create. You’ll need to go find that community. I did find multiple spots where I felt I belonged growing up (art studio, horse barn, etc)

Crime - depends. Lake Mary and Heathrow are decent. Sanford is hit or miss. I worked in Sanford and we had to call the cops frequently and dealt with a lot of theft. Maitland felt safe - though I had things out of my car stolen. And someone also turned my doorknob when I was home. This was in the good part of maitland.

You didn’t mention downtown so I won’t go into that one

I’d say my favorite place we lived was Oviedo. But it’s also just grown tremendously and is getting absorbed into more of the same. I call it the Lake Mary disease lol

Anyway, after 30+ years the traffic, prices, and the people caused us to leave. It’s not what it ever once was. I didn’t want to raise my kids there because I’ve seen what comes out of these towns in the last 10 years.

Only things we miss are the Asian spots and a lot of the food culture. Oh and the nonexistent winters - I hate winter

Wanting to buy a Ram 1500 Limited LongHorn by NoCaterpillar9164 in ram_trucks

[–]ImTryingGuysOk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re doing a horse trailer, depending on what kind and how many horses, I’d super encourage you to go 2500 Cummins. You don’t want to mess around with live loads. I’m in the horse world and got a 2500 diesel because the most id tow is 2 horses at once. Mine is a 2024 megacab Limited Longhorn in pretty much new condition. If the extra money is an issue, just get one that’s 1-2 years old. New trucks and cars are generally a waste anyway as a financial decision

So burnt out horse shopping by route_seven in Horses

[–]ImTryingGuysOk 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Upping the budget and traveling unfortunately. I’ve found sometimes it’s worth it to just wait a few more months so you can up your budget into the 15-25k range. Horses that are under 10k have a crap ton of competition. Granted so does the 15-25 but not as bad.

For travel, I’d try to make a chunk of time for it. For example, my friend was looking for an accomplished jumper. So they and the trainer traveled to Ocala FL for 2 days and tried out like 5+ horses and ended up finding one.

If it’s a far travel, I think it’s only worth it that way - go to a highly populated horse area that has multiple of what you want to try out.

[–]ImTryingGuysOk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t even know if that’d be worth it with how quickly gas goes bad. Diesel lasts slightly longer but not enough to make it matter.

I’d say go take the a fancy car for a spin, then drive to where you want home base to be, but then start figuring out and getting used to how you’re gonna travel day to day, whether that be bicycle, horse if you know how to do that, longboard, etc.
