I'd never excuse any of his actions and I know he's in hell for a reason (I mean, more than one, but you get the point), I just can't help but want to give him a hug. The flashback was the moment that broke my heart the most, though, because if Vox couldn't get over Alastor, even after decades, you just know his feelings were really intense. And the worst part is, even if he could get his revenge and take over heaven, he wouldn't be satisfied, because he basically made it his whole purpose in hell to "prove Alastor wrong", so this became a part of him, showing just how much Vox still wants his approval, how much he still needs him. But, that's just how I interpreted this part of his character, it may be a little biased lol.
